Huanchaco beach is long but very narrow. For most of its length, it's too narrow to walk on. Toward the southern end of town there's more room for walking, sitting, etc. But it's stony and not a beautiful beach. I wouldn't want to spend more...More

I stopped for lunch on the way from El Brujo to Chan Chan today. I'd considered staying in Huacachina to be close to Chan Chan, and I'm glad I didn't. It felt quite hustled for tourists with men walking into our car as we drove...More

Stay at a cheap hostel, surf, eat good food, visit the Chan Chan ruins and take a day trip into Trujillo for a nice time!

You can rent a pair of camping chairs and a parasol for about 15 sols. The beach was very crowded with vendors and people passing by all the time. Unfortunately Peruvians have no problem with littering, leaving their candy wrappers and plastic glasses behind when...More

Huanchaco is the most famous beach in Trujillo. It has a nice view, specially at sundown. The problem was that it was really crowded and not clean at all.

This beach is to be avoided! It is rocky and there isn't much place to lie down in the sun. Not to mention, there isn't much there in terms of things to do or restaurants. Also, the worst part is the honking taxi drivers that...More

We visited on a Sunday, and it was packed with locals. It was very entertaining to see the families having a good time. The waves were quite big. The biggest attraction for us as visitors were the reed boats, which have been used for fishing...More
