Jan was a great guide! As a biology student he shared his knowledge enroute. This would have been difficult to do unguided as the trail had no signage.

We did two activities with MexiTreks and both were excellent. Eddie and Daniel were great hosts! The hike was beautiful with great details, and the kayaking was perfect and paced very well for our group of ten with five little kids.

The treks start from the town square in Sayulita - you could take a taxi there. Go to MexiTrek's website for pricing information. You will have a great hike!

My husband and I will be on PV from 7/31 to 8/7. We are looking for a guided hiking tour without the crowds that you would find with a large excursion. We are planning to hike from Boca to Las Animas on our own, but want to do a longer hike. The only hiking tour I can find is Mexitreks out of Sayulita. I also found Ecoride as well but they have not contacted me back. Is there any other similar tour companies that I may be missing? If we choose mexitreks is it easy to get to Sayulita by bus?...More

As far as getting to Sayulita by bus, it's very simple. Depending on where you are staying in Puerto Vallarta, get to WalMart (across from the port --- Maritime Terminal, where the cruise ships come in). If staying in the Centro or southside area, take a city bus (blue) to get there. The Ixtapa bus is the most frequent...More
