I hate writing this review because we have loved this spot over the years and always visit their surf shop when we come in February. We have purchased several hundred dollars worth of hats, shirts etc over the years. Yesterday we went there as our first visit when we got to town. I forgot flip flops and needed some. Ended up buying several hats, sunglasses and a pair of Rainbow flip flops. I already own two other pairs of Rainbows and they are size ten. So I grabbed a pair off the wall labeled size ten and didn’t think much about it. We purchased our items and headed to lunch and more shopping. That evening when I got back to the resort I went to get the flip flops and put them on. They were way too tight. So I turned them over and they were size 8.5. Didn’t think much of it because I figured it would be no problem to take them back and just get the right size. Today I went back to exchange them. I had the hanger that was mislabeled as size 10, flip flops and even the receipt. The employee who we purchased them from yesterday was there, but I’m guessing so was the owner. The employee acted like it was no big deal to exchange them for the correct size because THEY had mislabeled the size. Then I’m guessing he was the owner, walked over and was very skeptical about doing anything for me. I seemed to talk him into letting just exchange them straight across and showed him how they were mislabeled for size. He acted like he was going to do it then looked at the tag of them ones I was taking and said he needed the tag from the other shoes. I had left the tag at the resort. He said he wanted them for the “warranty” on them. I told him to just take the tag for the ones I was exchanging. He then switched and said he needed if for invoicing and that it was just the “politics” of the situation. Long story short he would not budge. I was genuinely shocked. Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced.

Just home from a great trip to Nuevo Vallarta. On our last day we decided to go check out Sayulita and wish we would have gone there sooner. After walking around town we were headed to beach and happened upon Stand Up Paddle. I hate shopping but was drawn into the place as it had great looking & well organized merchandise. Bought few T-shirts and then inquired about surfing lessons, I wasn't expecting too much as lesson was only $40. 30 minutes later I got to meet my instructor Miguel and in another 15 minutes he had me in the water. Miguel was very patient, easy to understand, and an all around great instructor. Learning to surf was great but the highlight was getting know and play in the surf with Miguel, he's an amazing person who loves what he does. After and few failed attempts, few more pointers from Miguel, I was standing up riding waves. We'll most certainly return to Sayulita and will absolutely be surfing with Stand Up Paddle. Thanks again Miguel and Stand Up Paddle.

Had an awesome time surfing La Lancha with Gonzalo today. Fun waves and nothing but friendly surfers in the water. Sandy bottom beach break, perfect for a mini mal or your fun board. Definitely add a trip with this crew to your Sayulita itinerary, you won’t be sorry. Be sure to check out the shop too. Great merch, quality brands.

We recently made our first ever attempt at stand-up paddle boarding with the friendly help and a lesson at Stand-Up Paddle. The staff we met: Marlette, Gonzalo & Manuel (our instructor) were super nice and spoke excellent English. The store is close to the beach and has washroom and shower facilities to rinse off as well as a place to store your gear while you are in the water. We will definitely see them again on our next visit.
