Yes, you have read the title correctly. We took our very young kids to the leisure pool after its refurb and after a frantic battle to find somewhere to change as a family in the overcrowded and freezing changing area we headed straight for lazy river. After five minutes the wife shouted that a poo had just floated past. I thought she was joking until I saw a life guard with a small net trying to fish something out of the pool. Then to my horror more poo came bobbling past followed by the screams of woman and children. You had thought Jaws had just entered the lagoon as people exited everywhere and staff frantically waving you out of the pool. A tannoy msg announcing that everyone had to get out of the water. Obviously some baby either had not been wearing swim nappies or they had leaked. So they closed the whole pool area not just the river which was a bit extreme. So if you thought the changing room was chaos before it was utter mayhem now and baltic cold. I would have took my chance getting back into the poo invested water at this point.
When we did eventually get out and on leaving asked reception for a refund they refused stating that only credit reciepts were being issued for a return visit. Surely after 5 minutes and chaos it is not too much to expect your money back. No refund given just a return trip to poo lagoon. We did go back and the toddler area was nice and good fun but the slides are slow, dated and the queues horrendous. And changing facilities still freezing and overcrowded.

Hi,

This is a review of the swimming pools at the Lagan Valley Leisureplex.

Travelling as a family with young kids we found this one of the better pools in the area as it offers a wide range of activities.

There is a lazy river, various small pools for toddlers and a choice of slides for the older ones including a white knuckle option.

Any time we have been it has been very busy with the changing area being a little cramped, lockers are available for a refundable £0.20.

During busy times you are given a certain coloured armband and asked to queue to gain access at 20 min intervals.

Cost for 2 adults + 1 child with <3 year olds free is £18.00, a bit on the high side though the pool complex does offer a lot more than the average.

Recommended for some family fun on a wet day, I think they offer a more ‘family with toddler’ friendly session from 9am until 11am avoiding the normal carefree teenagers.

Can’t comment of the restaurants as we used one of the fast food outlets within walking distance. In fact the day could be spread out with a morning swim, lunch then the local cinema (opposite the fast food)

Enjoy

The facilities are good but the pool side staff were rude and unwelcoming. Of the 4 members of staff that interacted with us each one needed some focused training in customer service and basic politeness. It has decent facilities but we won't be back.

Visited the leisureplex today with my 15month old son,my sister and nephew. To begin we had to wait for an hour before r session began so we got food at the cafe-food was quite nice but was dampened by the rudeness of 2 members of staff who were seated in the seating area.
When we finally got to the changing area it was packed full of frantic people looking for a changing room-there seemed to b no facilities for me to change my baby. After a 10 minute search we finally got a changing booth and went in to enjoy the slides
Then the queues began-20min queue for rapids,15min wait for a ring to go down the other slide-all of which meant my 90minute session so far had consisted of 10 mins to get a changing room,10mins getting changed and 25-30mins queuing.
Don't get me wrong the leisure pools r good and we all enjoyed the pools but the business was crazy. After our session we went back to the changing area and after a 15minute search with a toddler who was beginning to get very cold I gave up on the changing rooms and had to get he and I changed in a toilet cubicle!!!!!!This is totally unacceptable!!!!!I will not b back to this waste of time and money!!!

Had a great day out here with family. Although it was an hours drive it was worth it. The facilities were great, was a fantastic day out and the kids loved the slides and lazy pool. It was not the expensive either for the family ticket

Hi, I very rarely write reviews, but I felt I needed to share my experience! We attended the Lisburn swimming complex 26th june when we arrived we were told we could not enter the lesiure pool for another 1hr and a half as a school had booked it out until 3.30 pm, this was disappointing to begin with as it was not previously stated online.
So we moved on from that, And we sat in the canteen to pass the time and we ordered two chips where we were then spoke to in an ill manered way as we asked how long would it have took for the curry sauce to be ready
ready. We eventually got into the pool where we were then told by a life guard that only some slides were on, and will then be shut off so that other slides could come on. Then was very distressing as we were not told by the reception. The last straw, we were then waiting in the que for the space bowl as it only opened at 5 o clock, patiently waiting in the long que for at least 15 minutes for the lifeguard to tell us the the slide was now closed, we were very angry about this as we should have been told in advance, the young man apoligised on behalf of the staff but I felt that the reception should have informed us alot more about the lesiure pools opening times and opening of slides!

Been coming here from my son was 3mths and i have to say hes turning 7 and im still going. You have the Lazy river, the slides, the pirateship and the competition pool. It can get busy so get early to avoid queues. The staff over the years have been helpful and anytime ive been the staff are cleaning and moping to ensure safety. Thanks

The actual pool and staff were good, however the ranges of slides got a bit boring after a few goes on each one especially for 9 plus. There was a severe lack of rubber rings, we had to queue to get on the slide and then queue at the bottom to wait for a rubber ring to use on the other slides. I felt it was not bad value for money, £31.50 for two adults and 5 kids for a 90 minute session. Don't wear swimming masks as they are not allowed but goggles are fine! Toilets are a bit dodgy as well.

The place is great, got KFC, and a few other restaurants like pizza hut.
The Omniplex is a great place for movies, very cheap too.
The swimming pool is good too, lots of slides and 2 Jacuzzi's.
