I visited this bridge in 2001 on a summer trip. The old bridge is right next to the new one and the view is spectacular. The old bridge is a foot bridge now and it warrants a stop and photographs. The view of the gorge below is - well - goregeous. Don't miss. Nothing else around this area, but this is worthwhile.

Beautiful views and amazing bridge but be careful of robbers parked across the road. They robbed our bags, camera, phones and money without us even realising, in broad day light all within the 3-5mins it takes to view the bridge. A real shame.
Interestingly, we have strong suspicions over 2 men in a ~2005 white Renault Clio

Anytime I pick people up in Geneva, I stop here to show them this, on the way to our home. It's a small stop, takes 5 minutes, and jetlag considered, people seem to really appreciate the view.

It is always on my itinerary to take my guests drop them off on one side and have them walk across, pick them up on the other. It is a nice view takes 5 minutes.

I am quite suprised to see that Pont de la Caille is listed as top attraction of Annecy. We have stopped there couple of times and while the bridge and the views from there are nice, I would not give them all that "fantastic" rating. In fact there are two bridges right next to each other. The old one is just for pedestrians, so you walk and take pictures. But you can also immediately recognise that it is as "medieval" as one can guess looking at the pictures - it was actually built in mid-XIXth century. There is nothing else in the area, so I would only advise you to stop by the bridge if you are driving on the national road between Geneva and Annecy anyway. However, if you are on the main highway, I would probably not bother leaving it just for the sake of stopping there, but simply stop at the "rest area", called Pont de la Caille, from which you can see both bridges and take a few pictures.

Unfortunately the bridge was closed for renovation. It looks fun though and it would be nice to walk over it, but may be next time.
Once you cannot step on the bridge it's difficult to find place to picture it.

Neat suspension bridge outside of annecy. Not worth a stand alone visit but is a nice place to stop off and have a picnic or take some photos when driving past. Has a bit of a fairy tale look to it and is at a impressive height.
