We were sent here by our hotel host.... so amazing! Worth every step as we hiked here. I believe this is an active abbaye. The chapel is painted with so much attention to detail it's mind boggling

We visited on a warm September day. The abbey’s church was just magnificent, every sq cm is decorated. We were alone in the church. The restaurant opened at 12 noon and we enjoyed a wonderful beer brewed by the abbey, yes it was heaven.

isolated and fortified medieval abbey, really stupefying. On the road between Tarascon and Avignon is a destination not to be missed, because the abbey church is among the most beautiful that can be seen in southern France

Most abbeys are packed with visitors and therefore are visited and treated as muséums, loosing their authenticity and religious signification. Saint Michel de Frigolet,is far from the madding crowd and the site, on the hill of the ´´Montagnette ´´ is beautiful. Booth cherches are worth...More

The painted interior of the Abbey is absolutely stunning! The abbey and grounds are well worth the ten minute drive from Tarascon. Take the time to walk the grounds in this magical setting.

Stopped by chance after seeing sign on roadside. Best thing we saw all day! The most beautifully decorated interior I've seen in a church. Every inch of walls and columns is colorfully painted. Out of the way and few people were there. If you are...More

L'abbaye has it all for a great day out with the family. In summer, many French people grab a picnic and spend the day under the pine trees. There are several hiking paths, the Abbey of course, a gift shop and a restaurant. The Abbey...More

If one were to take holy orders, then this is one of the places one would want to live. The setting is amazing, the Abbaye is utterly stunning and the whole thing permeates peace. A detour you MUST make.

Dramatic setting for this abbey (and its many outbuildings). The nicest part is the old Roman chapel, and the surroundings with great hiking trails throughout la Montagnette. Certainly worth a visit !

Tarascon is a wonderful area and this abbey is a fascinating part of the experience. The town as a whole is typically French, small and full of character. We went to a country wedding in one of the chateaus so much to take in, in...More
