Adam Puchta Winery, located off Hwy. 100 on the banks of Frene Creek about 2.5 miles southwest of Hermann, is the oldest family farm winery in Missouri. Its true uniqueness, however, lies in the fact that the same family has continuously owned it since 1855. We are a true farm winery with a peaceful, laidback setting. Many cats live here, and the property has picnic tables on a lovely shaded hillside so you can sit, visit and relax.Tastings are done in a cool old barn where we pair wine with food for a truly enhanced experience.

I've been to Adam Puchta winery several times, since I live so close. I consider their wines to all have a sweeter base, the Adams choice is my personal favorite! The traminet is amazing as well! The atmosphere is quite, several cats wondering around, but they keep to them selfs, and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend a... More

We visited the 4 big wineries and AP had the best tasting experience and the best wine IMO. They paired croutons and sweets with a few of the wines which was a great touch. The bathrooms were port-o-potties, ugh. An investment in some plumbing would take this place to the next level.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Winery. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your wine tasting. About the port-a-potties: unfortunately several years ago we had our sewer line collapse and it is VERY, VERY expensive to fix. More

This was our first stop on our winery tour and it was a very cute place. They had an outdoor seating area which was perfect for drinking our wine slushies, which may sound gross, but trust me, they were delicious! My favorite part were the cats lounging in the sun.

We were so lucky to start our tour day here talking with Larry about the history of this family winery. Thank you Larry for all of your information and insight. The tasting room was relaxed with helpful staff obviously like what they do and where they work. They also know the wines and offer wonderful insight for food pairings. Fun... More

The wine at this stop was good. It was not our favorite wine in Hermann but it is good. I did not feel invited to this winery though like I did at others. The wine tasting seemed rushed, even though there wasn't anybody else there at the time. After we sampled our wine, we did purchase a couple bottles but... More

We started our winery tour at Adam Puchta. It was recommended by several people as having the best wine in the Hermann environs. Colinda introduced us to the featured wines of the day and did a wonderful job of explaining the various features of each wine we tasted. We ran into her later in the day at a local restaurant.... We were told that the Adam Puchta winery had some of the best wines in Hermann, and they were right. We sampled some really great wines, especially the Norton. Best of all was Colinda, the person who took us through our wine tasting tour. She was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. She made a point of explaining what we were tasting... More

The wines here were some of the best we tasted--a little drier and less sweet. We had a great tasting session with Colinda, who not only described the wines, but presented chocolates, lime cookies, and ginger straws to show how the flavors pair with the wines.

After sampling the delicious wines, they have a lovely retail area to purchase picnic supplies in case you didn't bring your own. Be prepared to sit and relax in their beautiful gardens and picnic area and listen to live music. It's a bit of a drive out of Hermann, but the rural view is enjoyable and well worth it when... Nice winery. Enjoy tastings of select wines ($5) for eight the day we were there. Bring your own picnic lunch or purchase food, buy wine or beer and relax in the sunshine on the lawn. Picnic tables provided! Gravel road is the only negative! Or, pick up the trolley in Hermann and relax, let someone do the driving, and keep... More
