Bad wine.

This is one of the places, which want to sell you some sort of German wine experience. I am from Germany and I must say I was disappointed. The grapes they use are not typical German grapes, and the wines except for the Chardonnay were all bad. The food also didn't have anything to do with German food and nothing special at all. The place was nice, but that was it.

Great service, good wine
Jun 2021 • Couples
Chad, who helped us, was fun and very knowledgeable about the wines we tasted. He also recommended other places for us to visit in Hermann. The wine was good, and we especially loved the champagne. The architecture and outdoor space is beautiful.

Variety
May 2021
It is $8 for 6 samples of any wine on their list. They have a variety of wines and merchandise to buy. There is a self guided tour of their wine cellar that we enjoyed, only took 5 min. It is in a beautiful location.

Nice tasting
Mar 2021 • Couples
We were in Hermann mid-week here in March and interested in food and wine. We visited the Hermannhof Winery tasting room facing Hwy 100 the railroad tracks and muddy MO river in town. After tasting multiple good wines, we selected a couple to suit our tastes. They were not crowded, since it was mid-week and still off season.
Unfortunately, their cafe/food was not open and there was only 1 employee serving all entrants/customers. She did good with the tasting. Bathrooms were so so.

Best wineries in Hermann
Mar 2021 • Couples
The Hermannhoff is our personal favorite after visiting Hermann. They have several wineries featuring Missouri and California wines. The wines are good and your palate will not be disappointed. Try them all.

Nice Day in Hermann
Nov 2020
We had a family group meet here for the day, so we had couples, one grandfather and some family members with small kids and/or teenagers. When we arrived, not many people were there. It was around 2:00 pm on a Saturday. I did a quick wine tasting and purchased a bottle of Chardonel (very good...but it should be for $30...and the wine pourer wasn't exactly a conversationalist) then ordered some food from their deli. The worker was very nice. We had bratwurst with kraut, chips and potato salad. All were good and the brat had a very generous serving of kraut! The service was somewhat slow but I didn't mind. There was only one woman working the deli. Others in our party who ordered after me definitely heard about how annoyed she was at not having help on a Saturday (there were a few other workers who could've helped her when she got busy but they didn't...they really should have!). She also mentioned someone getting the last sandwich she was making that day or not being able to make more potato salad...a little strange. I've heard the hours have been a bit odd at this place but I think most of the weirdness here at the moment is mainly COVID-related, as I can imagine it's very difficult to predict how many people will be showing up each day. We were also here the Saturday after Thanksgiving, which I'd imagine is also hard to predict. There are plenty of places to sit, both inside and outside. They allow dogs outside, which is nice. We had ours with us. The kids and teenagers weren't bored, as they played in the gazebo or walked around the property site seeing. Bathrooms were clean and easy to find. They sell Blackshire Distillery items here to take home as well as some gift shop items. Overall we had a nice time, but I do think Hermannhof has gotten a bit big for their britches on pricing. Their wine is good, but a bit overpriced compared to others in the area and the food was expensive. It was about $70 for one bottle of wine, 2 brats and 2 potato salads with tax and tips. I think I paid less than this for wine plus lunch at V. Sattui in Napa...and...uhh...that's Napa, CA.

Hermannhof had good wine and cheese boards. We purchased both and sat outside at the gazebo in the back. Everything was good, but it was very expensive.

This winery was ok. The food was kind of expensive. We got the picnic basket and a glass of wine. It was ok.

Vino!
Mar 2020
Of all the wineries we visited in Hermann, this was my favorite. I liked each glass I tasted. We did the self guided tour in the cellar. Had it been a little warmer out, we would have taken advantage of the lunch options on the meat and cheese side. The tastings were delicious. I loved that this location was located within walking distance from the inn where we stayed. So lovely to be able to walk and not have to worry about driving. Very enjoyable!
