GOOD SPOT FOR PICTURE TAKING
May 2019
You can spend a short few moments taking nice pics against the backdrop of a real Coast Guard Boat, Air Forse Jet, Tank, and Troop Carrier.

Fun to see
Aug 2019 • Family
We were visiting our son at basic and had fun walking the grounds looking at all the different kinds of military vehicles. Our son got to explain some of them to us which was interesting and good to see him excited and interested about them. Great place to take pictures with the kids and family. Would highly recommend going to check them out. It's not a very long walk around the grounds and there are a couple of park benches to sit on too.

Interesting display of several military vehilces.

It was interesting to see all the different vehicles in one location. In fact, there are at least two separate displays on the installation that we swa.

Very unusual vehicles on display

After touring the three museums we strolled through the park of Military equipment. Some were very strange. I would have liked for there to have been a soldier there to explain what the equipment did.

We visited here and found shade and a nice lunch. A good stop in the summer.lots of local activities near by. Many food choices on base. ( mostly fast food is what worked for our trip.)

Great sight for military buffs
Aug 2014 • Family
Husband and son enjoyed this very much, but then they are military buffs and knew what most of the equipment was. They appreciated being able to see and touch it in person, rather than just in book or documentary.

This is located directly across the street from the Mahaffey museum complex (with museums on the chemical corps, engineer corps and military police).

For those looking for a "park" experience, continue on south through the fascinating exhibit of army buildings and you will find a very nice "green space" park, complete with memorial.

Military Equipment
Small area of several items. Plane, tank and other types of equipment. There is a larger exhibit by the museums. Also as you drive thru the base you will see other items on display. Very interesting pieces.

This is a "park?"
Jan 2013 • Friends
OK, if your idea of a park is several pieces of surplus military equipment shoved together on a small piece of ground near one of the busiest intersections on the fort, well I guess you'll love it.

If you're looking for "an area of open space provided for recreational use, in its natural or semi-natural state, or planted, and set aside for human enjoyment or for the protection of wildlife or natural habitats," then you're likely to be disappointed.

Call it what it is - Fort Leonard Wood's attempt to show the public who happen to drive by that military from four services train there.
