Quaint shop that is more than just homemade chocolates and candies. Has an array of household goods, like plates, dish towels and trays, with cute sayings on them. Fine place to browse and maybe take home some sweet treats.

We are new to Columbia and our realtor gave us a gift box of chocolate covered cookies from here. They were excellent. He also told us you can watch them make goodies in their factory so we thought we would go check it out. Well due to covid the viewing area is closed, which is absolutely understandable. I was a bit disappointed though in the selection of goodies. They're more of a home-made chocolate treats store, with a sprinkle of candy and gifts. Don't get me wrong the chocolate looked wonderful, but we decided not to get any that day because it was so hot outside and we had more errands to run so it would've melted in the car. If you're not a big chocolate fan than your options of candy will be small.

Beautiful store. It has a sophisticated look, but maybe a bit overcrowded.
But, it has all the variety that one needs. It seems every flavor is represented. There are also many fun chocolate shapes and animals. There are even chocolate frogs for the Harry Potter fan. The Katy's are delicious and the staff attentive and helpful.

We got there a few minutes before closing time, the lady told us as we were looking for chocolates that they close in 1 minute. I told her to go ahead and close, we would get candy elsewhere so she could go home! I've been in customer service for over 35 years and would NEVER say such a thing!!! Its customers that pay her salary. Will never return...

What a charming jewel hidden inside of downtown Columbia, MO! I stopped in Columbia for business and asked about some places to visit, and I was told of a chocolate shop. Since I love chocolates, I decided to give the place a visit. I was amazed at the selection (hundreds of candies) of confections for sale and was told I could go to the viewing room to watch them being made. I walked up a magically decorated stairwell to the viewing room and watched a team of confectioniers make chocolates by hand and by machine. The whole place looked like Candy Land with custom painted walls, I'll take my kids if I get back in this neck of the woods.
The service was great, I ended up buying way more then I anticipated. At my hotel I ate the turtles, sea salt caramels, and some artisan chocolates, they were all as good or better then anything I find on the West Coast. Actually, I guess the caramel was the best I have ever eaten, very soft and tasty. I got my kids the chocolate potato chips and some chocolate oreos, they were devoured upon receipt by the kiddos.
I don't Trip Advise very often, but I highly suggest checking this place out if you are ever in Columbia, MO.

This is not really a candy factory but a just a candy store. If you like chocolate, this is the place for you. If you are in downtown columbia stop by but not worthy of making a special trip unless you are craving a chocolate fix.

Was there a viewing room? Supposedly they advertise that you can watch them make candy, but I didn't notice anything of the sort. The shop is okay, and the chocolates were average. I certainly wouldn't go back for them. The turtles consisted mostly of nuts, I prefer more caramel and chocolate.

I visited the Candy Factory before Christmas after not being in the store for years and was really delighted with the variety of gift items and the wonderful selection of chocolates and other candies. It will be a permanent stop on my Christmas shopping agenda from now on, and I'll be stopping in for other occasions throughout the year.

Best chocolate covered berries you can buy. They inject them with carbonation of some kind and they are delicious. I don't think they have them all of the time but definitely during holidays.

The Candy Factory is conveniently located in downtown Columbia, Mo. We were there buying the area's VERY BEST chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines Day presents, and a box of exceptional dark chocolates. This place has an incredible selection of candy, but it also has a lot of unique gifts. The service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Plus, its a fun place to shop.
