What a fabulous, intact, loved and cared for historic house. The tour is great and Carthage Preservation, the owners, are to be commended for saving this cultural treasure.

We didn't go in since it's only open for tours on Wednesdays. I'll share this: don't hurry through Carthage. Drive Central Ave from the east, turning south at Garrison for a block and back to the right on Oak St.....this is the old Route 66....More

Hello, the house is open for tours from 10-4 on Wednesdays April through November. Tours are $5 per person.
