Small museum that focuses on the role Carthage and Southwest Missouri had during the Civil War. One large room containing displays and a diorama.

Good opportunity to see a few of artist, Andy Thomas' prints. Clean museum , nice effort on behalf of the city. Opens early, 8:30, well before shops. A video is offered. Donations accepted.

We enjoyed the museum; it is simple, but interesting. You have to be willing to read. I found interesting the info about Native Americans in the area during the Civil War.

One of the first land battles in a capsulized museum... a stop takes about one hour or less. Small inventory of artifacts.
