Lazy L is a very nice attraction for Cape Girardeau, MO. They have a large selection of exotic animals. The petting zoo for kids is great. The area is clean and offers a hand cleaning station once the kids have finished playing with the baby goats. One of the biggest distraction is, they only have portable toilets for the public.... We visit Lazy L Safari Park quite often, but this past visit was filled with lots of baby sightings! Two baby zebras, two baby lemurs, a baby white camel named Liberty, and tiny pot bellied pigs were just some of little ones spotted! Always fun at Lazy L---feeding the parakeets are one of our favorite activities!

I was not impressed with this place. This was someones farm in the middle of no where. They want you too pay $7 per person for animals you can see from your car. What my group thought was a real giraffe was actually a statue in the middle of a pen. Do yourself a favor and go to an actual... More

Thank you for visiting our zoo, but I'm sorry you were disappointed. Your right, this is our family farm. We are a working ranch and agritourism operation. Agritourism is when you open your farm to visitors - it's the latest tourism activity in the past 10 years and growing in visitor attendance every year. Our family owned walk-thru zoo has... More

I took my children last summer to the safari park. It was all great until we got inside the little barn area. They had a kangaroo with a cone around its beck and had blood everywhere. It really freaked my children out. I asked the attendant about it, and mentioned them needing to clean him up. She totally ignored me... More

I'm sorry you were upset by your visit last summer to the zoo. The kangaroo you mentioned in your review was under veterinary care at the time. Yes, the kangaroo had a cone around his neck as veterinarians often use these devices to keep an animal from scratching or irritating themselves or other veterinary reasons. However, that was NOT blood... More

I am so sorry that your grandson was upset during your visit to our zoo. That is not we are about. We take good care of our animals and we want our guests to enjoy their visit to our working ranch/zoo as well. I have checked with staff and we have not received any critical comments or concerns from any... More

I was a little skeptical of this place when I was reading about it. I was actually impressed when I got there. They really do have a lot of different animals. It's a little run down and crowded, but it seems like they take good care of the animals. It's $7 to walk through and look at the animals and... More

Thanks for visiting and glad you had a good time! The Parakeet Jungle Exhibit is a "favorite" of many of our visitors - if you like birds! Lol We are a small zoo but we have over 50 different species of exotic animals. We did start selling ice cream in the gift shop last year, but you are more than... More

So glad your child loved the zoo! Yes, we are an actual working ranch/zoo operation. All admission prices go towards the upkeep of the animals such as feed, etc. We are a privately owned family zoo with no donations or funds received from any other sources besides our admission prices. Thanks for visiting! More

Wow! You want fun? This is fun!!! What a great surprise! You will never find such an intimate zoo as this anywhere else. There are all sorts of animals that you can feed and pet. While I was there I pet and fed the camels, zebras, rain deer, pigs, sheep, parakeets, peacocks, and lots of farm animals. This family owned... More
