Nice little park
May 2021 • Couples
This is a small park with a few parking spots. An old bridge used to cross the river here. Since I remember that bridge, the place had more meaning to me. There was a little trail and a few interpretive signs. This place offers a good view of the river.

Pretty, but a let down.

We wnt there to get a good view of the Mississippi River. It was a nice view, but the park was much smaller than I thought it would be. They had the remains of the old bridge and a lookout and then a walkway of a couple of hundred yards around the back of the University building. Not worth an extra trip, but nice if you are already in the downtown neighborhood.

Scenic and Relaxing

Good view of the Mississippi River, and its river traffic. Benches are comfortable. Highly recommended. Small casino nearby, Plenty of places to eat very close to this park.

It was a lovely site to see. It was one of the first places my wife took me to when we moved to Cape because its her home town. I like how you can look over everything. I would recommend people of all ages to go and take a look

Cold Day

Took us a little bit to find this one. It is a nice place. The interesting thing is that the park has “One Of” the oldest trees in Missouri not the only one. Does have an interpretative sign that tells you about the type of tree. This sets just adjacent to the new bridge which is really a neat bridge. Worth going to check out the old and new bridge. Does appear there is a walk way or trail. We did not go because it was a bit cold and we hadn’t brought a jacket with us. So if you have some time and need a few minutes to relax this may be the place for you. I could see myself coming to this park more often if I lived in the area but being from out of town as for me once is enough.

A "Must See" when in Cape Girardeau
Dec 2018
This point of interest allows you to see so many items of Capes history in one area. The old bridge remnant, St. Vincents Seminary and the new River Campus for SEMO are all located on the banks of the Mississippi River.

Could be a lot better
Aug 2019 • Friends
First off when I asked the docent where Riverfront Park was located, they said they never heard of that park. It’s not clearly labeled as such and was not found on google maps. From picture I believe I was at the right spot. It’s right near SEMO river campus but this site needs so much work. It’s a spot where the old bridge use to be before Emerson Bridge was built. This could really be a site to see if they had more around the structure near the river. I wouldn’t waste time seeing it.

Beautiful Park
Jan 2019 • Family
This is a beautiful park to go visit during your lunchtime. I like to go and just read or fly my drone. If you have never visited, it's a must. It's better of course when it's warm outside. I just went this past week when the weather was unseasonably warm.

Beautiful Park

I go here quite often in the spring and summer for lunch. It's a nice relaxing park to just read or fly your drone. If you have never been here, you need to try it out.

Nice view of the river
Nov 2018
This small park, which is located where the old Mississippi River bridge used to be, offers a panoramic view of the river, as well as the new bridge. It's a bit off the beaten path, but there are several other attractions nearby. Find a local, and they will tell you about the River Campus located to the right, or the haunted house to your left when you are standing at the overlook. It's a very interesting area.
