We took the 4 hour excursion. It was some of the best money we ever spent! Can't recommend this highly enough. We got to interact with so MANY animals. We had a great tour guide, thanks Jim. We are going to be telling everyone we know about this!

Wonderful experience! You can tell the animals are very loved and well taken care of. Baby kangaroo Freedom stole my heart ❤ and the armadillo. Staff was very knowledgeable and the driver was very funny. Loved the experience will for sure be back in the future.

For the love of animals!

It’s impossible to know what one might find at a private zoo. It was clear that there is a sincere heart for animals at The Promised Land Zoo, and it’s evident in every aspect of the experience. We opted for the VIP+ experience. Our keeper, Cory (sorry if I spelled that wrong), was knowledgeable, patient, articulate, kind, and just seemed genuinely thrilled that this is his job. It was so wonderful to be in an environment where the care of the animals is undoubtedly first. Our tour driver, an older gentleman (and I apologize because his name escapes me), demonstrated the same qualities that our keeper did, and all while he was operating a giant van, driving past animals, and coaching us on how to interact and feed the animals. Wow! Just wow! It was a privilege to get to visit, and we’re already looking forward to our next trip!

Fun Drive

We bought our tickets online. We did not know what to expect when we got there because it was not very clear online and on the tickets. There were signs once you got to the zoo that helped but we still got out of our car only to find out we did not need to since we had tickets. We were not sure if we could enter or if we needed a ticket to enter the gate. We were surprised when we saw a person at the gate to get us checked in. She was very helpful. The zoo was well kept and had plenty of animals even though it was so hot. A little pricey.

Great experience but go early I guess.

The experiences are great! We did VIP+ which for two adults and two kids was like $460. Well we get there and find out that our 5 year old can’t do the meet a sloth part (have to be 8 or older) and we can’t get a refund… well that wasn’t clear at all on the website and my 5 yo was so sad. The bus tour and feeding animals was great! And the meet a sloth for 3 of us was great! And the group experience was great! I did the 2:30pm spot. Well we finished all our vip experiences by 4:45pm. Now we’re ready to walk around and do the drive through ourselves…we’ll they close at 5pm. We were told we could come back, but we we’re heading home the next day. So it was great, but I don’t think I should pay $460 something and not get the whole deal. Communicate online more clearly that only 8+ can do vip+ and that you close up at 5pm whether vip+ is done or not. I would have selected an earlier time if I had known that.

Breaks the Budget, but also made a birthday girl happy
Sep 2021
We purchased our tickets to bring our daughter who was turning 13 to celebrate her birthday. The cost is the biggest hurdle. It was $238 for two of us. We paid for the VIP plus an encounter with sloths. A plus was there were babies at the zoo. So, my daughter loved being able to pet a itty bitty baby sloth. She lit up and for that I stomached the high cost. We got about 20 minutes with the sloths which was a cup of 3 pieces of an apple to feed them (to keep them awake) and just hanging out with them above our heads. I gave my apple slices to my daughter so she could have more interaction and thought that three pieces was a bit stingy, unless maybe their stomachs could not handle more treats but thinking 3 pieces and a short time with our cost didn't match well. Other people walk on the exterior and watched us have our encounter, which doesn't make for the best photos if they are in the background, but it was super adorable to see toddlers get excited while my daughter tried to keep the sloths awake.

Pros: Feeding the animals was a lot of fun. The opportunities to feed was on the tram ride, with the small bird enclosure and on the walking trail. My daughter loved feeding the alpacas and I loved the kangaroos. There wasn't a lot of people, so it is not crowded at all. The baby Camel was super fun as well to feed and see trot around.

Cons: Cost. It is more cost efficient to go to the drive through safari park in Strafford for a similar experience as the tram ride through this park. The amount of time with the encounter in conjunction with the price. Some of the animals were in a bit of small enclosures. I felt that the lion and tiger really needed to be relocated to a better facility. The advertisement is a bit misleading. Lots of pictures of animal interactions with lots of different animals and we only held a baby joey for about a minute or two, a python for about a minute and then could pet a few smaller animals like a ferret or rabbit (animals that you could see at a pet store). I would have loved to have some close encounters with the larger tortoises or other animals. But, I can't complain with the kangaroos, they were super fun and adorable.

Advice: Find the big cats another location. Do something special for birthdays. So many people visit for their birthdays. Would not take much to make them feel more special while choosing to come to celebrate their day with this park. And reconsider your advertisement alongside the actual experiences people get in the park along with the high costs.

My daughter still loved her day there, but it would have been so much more fun if I could have budgeted to bring my other 3 kids and husband along as well. I would not drop around $500 or more for family a trip to this park. But thank you for the great memories my daughter will have with the animals she did see.
