I am confused on why people are so enamored with this beach. It is picturesque and a decent place. However the sand is not great and at the edge of the lake it is pebble bed. This made walking on it very painful. Very. I hated the pebbles. Water shoes are a must. $5 entry fee and go early to get a spot.

Memorial Day weekend- went on Tuesday beach is “closed due to flooding” for at least a few more weeks. Had vacation planned around being able to go to beach with the kids. Why not close off the dam leading up to a huge holiday weekend when you know the water levels are too high. Ruined our trip

Nice clean beach. Water is very clear. We arrived at 1:00 on a Saturday and had to wait about 45 minutes to get in since the parking lot was full. The attendant said the lot filled that day by 11:30. Either arrive early or plan to get in much later.

It LOOKS Wonderful .......We rented house very close specifically to be able to go to Moonshine Beach and only found out it was closed by going there.
Communication regarding this major closure would have been soooooo helpful in planning.
Marinas were loving the extra business as families struggled to come up with activites for their groups....but really on vacation it was unnecessary stress.

Drove from Springfield to come to the beach for my kiddo's birthday (July 7th). Beach was closed. No indication on website whatsoever. It was very disappointing for all of us. Wound up spending a lot of $ on the strip to make up for the crummy birthday let down. Please, please, please put updates on your website about park closings!!!

Went here two days in a row with our teens. Nice beach. Not soft sand, but a little rocky. Cost $5 per car for the day. Had nice bathrooms and play area. Has small shelters along the beach that we used both days. Can’t wait to go back.

Please put on the website that you closed right now. You can still go out on a boat but we were so disappointed when we saw it was closed. And I'm sure others travel way more than our 4 hours. We will be back. But were excited to spend the day on the Beach!

Our family LOVES Moonshine Beach! We visit there for a fun-filled day in the sun every single year, but not this year. Thanks to lots of rain this year, water levels were too high and when we went to the entrance of the beach, we were disappointed to see it was closed. No fault to the beach, of course, but we schedule an entire day of our vacation to go there. We rented a boat later in the week to see just how high the water levels were, and the very wide beach was almost completely underwater with water reaching up to the shelter house at the top of the hill. No wonder it's closed, but disappointing non-the-less with no other beach options available at Table Rock Lake. So, we swam from the boat...we missed you Moonshine Beach!!!

We've been going to Branson for 30 years and only a few years ago found Moonshine Beach. Even if it's just a rocky beach with no Andy Williams performing, it doesn't matter. You don't need what's on the strip to make you happy here. The nature all around you is very peaceful and totally relaxing. But be sure to bring some good shoes for when you're walking in the water or on the shore. It's made up of smaller rocks on the shore, but bigger rocks in the water, and you can hurt yourself. The swimming area is roped off by a divider, so no boats will come close to your loved ones.

I am a local and love going to Moonshine Beach. Very nice facilities. The gates close at 8 pm which is a little inconvenient but I understand staff has to clean up. The main problem is the 2 men that manage that place go around and start yelling, yes yelling at the patrons to get out of the park at 715pm. People are trying to pack up and they are pressuring people to GET OUT. It just leaves a bad end of day experience to a great day with the family. My advice is don't hire those independent contractors back next year. They are very rude and made me and my family uncomfortable more than once. The nice beach isn't worth being run off by rude, grumpy men that don't care if people come back or not. Branson is known for friendly locals and these guys don't understand or care about this and should not be in direct contact with our tourist.

Is there any current flooding in Branson? Just wondering if this beach gets flooded out with all the recent rain. Coming from north east Missouri where we are currently experiencing a lot of flooding.
