We had a good time at the “beach” the rocks were hard on your feet and it was a little crowded but we still had a great time and the facilities were nice and clean! Cheap thing to do with the kids!

My son and I had never been to Moonshine beach, well not since he was a toddler and it wasn't as it is now. Then it was an informal local watering hole to take your kids to get wet during the hot days of Summer....More

Located right near the Chateau on the Lake and the Fish Hatchery, just off the dam, this swimming area was constructed to allow a convenient area for public swimming.

This sand beach is clean and stays pretty shallow so the kids have plenty of room to play. They have clean bathrooms, an outdoor rinse off shower, pavillions and a play ground. You have to pay to get in (I think it was only $5)...More

Enjoyed our time at Moonshine Beach, we went during the week so it was not particularly cloudy. It does require a park permit for entry. Most people are very friendly and accommodating.

No reservations needed. It's like a State Park - just go to the guard shack and they charge per car. I forgot how much they charge per car but you should be able to google it. Just make sure you bring lots of sunscreen... More
