Wow what a ride. the scenery was amazing and it's not everyday you get to ride in rail cars from the early 40's. I really enjoyed riding though the many train tunnels along the line. It was pitch black inside; the only thing that you could see was the locomotive at the very front. This is something everybody in the... More

Okay, so the nice part first- cool train! The cars are all from the 50's to the70's. It was a nice train ride. The scenery is okay as long as you like trees, an occasional valley or mountain view and not much of any thing else. I don't think "scenic" should be in the title.

My wife and me took this ride, and yes there were times all you see are trees and rocks and a Go. Through a couple of tunnels, but I found it relaxing and the guy talking about the history interesting. You also get to go over a couple of high trestles and look down into the valleys. They also take... More

They should change the name from Scenic Railroad to Railroad, there is nothing scenic about it. It's a bunch of tree lined railway on a worn down train.

The best that can be said is it was a smooth ride. The "scenic" part consisted mainly of tall trees on both side of the tracks blocking any view.

Glad I booked this ahead. It was so hot in Branson this was a great way to stay cool and comfortable. As for the actual trip.....there is very little to see except for trees (and treetops if you sit in one of 2 domed cars). Dining car prices are reasonable. We had chili, hot dogs and nachos. Parking is nearby... More

We went on the dinner train, very cool trip. Pre cooked prime rib was ok, the rest of the meal so-so......the scenery on the train ride was beautiful. I would like to see it at christmas time.

I would first say that this may have been the wrong time of year to ride this train or that the dinner ride may have been better. However, at noon in early September all we saw were trees, trees and more trees. There were a couple of train trestles that were interesting but that was about it. I will say... More

If you're looking for an exciting way to spend a couple of hours look elsewhere. Having said that, I enjoyed it. It is about a 20 mi one way trip, into the scenic ozark mountains into Arkansas. Then the train reverses direction and goes back, same route. As other reviewers said there's a little history. There's 50's big band music... More

We took the southern trip (unfortunately you don't know which way you are going until right before the trip) it was nice relaxing way to see the Ozarks. I thought it was quite scenic pass over a lake at the start and a couple of creeks two tunnels and two trestles don't really know what else you expect to see... More
