About
A highlight of the Silver Dollar City theme park, this constantly evolving wet limestone cave under the Ozark Mountains, dating back to the 1500s, provides a one-hour tour of fascinating rooms and passageways. The cave's entryway is the largest in the U.S.

    Beautiful
You climb down 600 steps... you are 500 feet below ground. It is beautiful down there. our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. We learned so much, she kept all of us engaged the entire time. I thought it was going to be harder than what it was and thankfully it wasn't. I have a bad back, and was recovering from sickness and I faired well. I would do this in the morning right away before they fill up... :) Great experience. Oh, there is also an underground waterfall... very neat!

Great time with Mark as our guide.
We went on 7-14-2023. Mark was our guide and was very entertaining. We took our 3 year old and it was good for her too. I recommend it to any family wanting to see the caves. Show up 15 minutes early for the tour.

    Much larger than we thought
Don't miss out on the cave tour if you go to SDC. It is mind-blowing. They say it is strenuous, but I think it's just something they have to say because there are several steps. If you don't have trouble going on stairs now then you won't have a problem. You just walk down, a tram takes you back up.

Can’t believe I’ve been walking right by for decades!
I have been going to SDC for decades and usually when we get in the gates we’re trying to dash through the crowd at the souvenir shop, which ironically enough, is the entrance to the cave. This is a must plan!!! The tour is free, but very limited to how many guests it can take at a time. We had to sit and wait in line for almost an hour to guarantee our spot in the tour, but if you have several people, just have someone hold your spot and send runners out to get food and take bathroom breaks while you wait!! The walk was not a tough one, you just need to pay attention to your head in several places. Otherwise, it’s a great way to spend a couple hours and see some natural beauty!

Would not, absolutely positively never recommend anyone who has the slightest problems with her knees, their ankles, shortness of breath, and other health conditions , you have to be in tiptop perfect shape in order to go on this tour.
Have no idea why the tour is an hour and a half other than to allow for people to climb all those steps. Went on the lantern tour, it’s very hard to see anything except that moment when he turned the lights on to the cave entrance to show the stunning, natural beauty. But it was only a few seconds.

The cave was great however we were not really able to enjoy it due to our very rude & controlling tour guide over the entire group. She kept yelling at people to hurry up (it was dark, wet, & slippery & people were being careful) & threatening the group to turn the lights off & leave us in the dark. She would not let us take pics during the tour or the pauses. We were rushed thru the entire tour except the “talks”.
We had 2 adults , a teen & a toddler all of which are competent & she acted like we were not listening & had the nerve to tell me to pay attention so I’d no what my kids couldn’t touch which I was already explaining to them and trying to enjoy the thrill of the 5yr olds amazement with everything. Needless to say it was the adults that wasn’t paying attention as I watched the people in front of us touch what we were not supposed to. I’ve taken this tour a few times over the past few years & id have to say this was by far the worst experience EVER!!!

Out worst experience at Branson. Purchased tickets for a lantern tour of Marvel Cave. This cave is located inside Silver Dollar City Amusement Park. Even though we purchased the tour, we were unable to enter the park without purchasing a day pass. We were told by guest relations that the tour is included in the price of admission. We didn't want to ride rides, we only wanted to see the cave. No one at the park knew how to handle our tickets to the cave. Guest services did refund our ticket purchase. It seems there is some sort of disconnect between the sale of the tickets online and the actual use of the tickets for the cave. It seemed to me that the online purchase should have been for the day pass even though it wasn't advertised that way. My party and I left this place shaking our heads at how poorly this attraction was advertised and how the ticket was sold. We left there and went to Dogwood Canyon. Dogwood was head and shoulders a way better experience than Silver Dollar City.

The docent was great at explaining the history and events that are held inside the cave. Wear Good walking shoes as you will walk a lot down hill, slippery wet places, narrow low spots where you will have to bend over to walk a short space. It is cold so plan for it. It was great fun.

I've been to SDC several times, but I suppose I never really knew the cave was free with your ticket. It's not explained very well, but tours leave about every hour, and the first 45 people in line will get to go (if you are standing inside the "holding zone" you'll be part of that 45). But, if you want to schedule your time, you will have to pay for that. Also, if you want a lantern tour, you will pay for that too. If you've already done a lot of the SDC rides, and its over 100 degrees, waiting for the tour, and taking the hour tour is worth it. It's an amazing cave, very pretty with a lot of neat areas. Our guide was great.

We love to do the Marvel Cave tour every time we are at Silver Dollar City. It is always enjoyable and our guide was very knowledgeable. It had been a few years since we had toured the cave and we really enjoyed it. They allow 60 people on the tour at a time which we thought were too many for the viewing areas located in the cave. But other than that it was a very interesting tour.

This was one of the better cave tours that I have taken. We did both the 'free' tour and the lantern tour. The guides for both were great, they gave a lot of information and fun stories about the cave. But the cave itself was the star, so many different features to see.

Be aware that the tour can close for safety reasons if there is a lot of rain. Between the morning tour and the lantern tour, the waterfall room water looked as though it had reason about 6-9 inches due to the rainfall. Also there are a lot of stairs and crouching if you are tall. Definitely wear good shoes.

Highly recommend the tour.

I have toured this cave many times. The first time was when I was 12 yrs old. My family always went through this cave on our trips to Silver Dollar City, then I took my daughters 3-4 times, then my granddaughter once. We love it. It's not too strenuous, even for two 60+ year olds. The tram coming out only broke down on us ONCE the time we visited in 2019.

My favorite part was making this memory with my family! My tips would be make sure you arrive early to get in line AND use the bathroom before hand. The tour guide does mention this over and over but it has to be said. There is no bathrooms, and it is a one hour activity walking through caves and up and down stairs. It was beautiful to see and the stories told by the guide were great too. Another tip... wear shoes with a good grip. The path can seem slippery.
