Nice lake with well located cabins right on the water. Helpful staff + park rangers. The cabin we stayed in ( 16) needed kitchen supplies restocked, a new mattress for the queen bed and new sofas.

I have been camping with my family at Flint Creek since I was a little girl, but in the past few years, I’ve noticed some changes that I feel have done nothing to improve the park. I have always loved the rustic charm of this park, but it’s quickly losing that quality and appeal and *trying to* become more while it seems park standards have taken a back seat.
I am NOT a fan of the first-come-first-serve camping in the first section. Campers are parked year-round in certain sites, and it limits some of the waterfront spots for other campers. These spots have gardens and decks, etc, however it’s beginning to look more like a trailer park, not a campground. What once felt like an inviting place now feels too ‘exclusive.’ I was told I basically had to book over a year in advance for a different waterfront spot during the summer.
There are very few spots that are full hookup for campers. Not a deal-breaker, but it’s also not ideal.
I have noticed that the park is not nearly as clean as it used to be. I was shocked to see how dirty the bathhouses were the last few times I have been. They also need updating. The beaches don’t appear to be as well-kept as they used to be either. My parents rented a cabin, and it was pretty clean but needed some repairs. The whole park, in general, doesn’t seem to be as well-tended as it used to be in the past. Disheartening.
The water park is nice, but it is extremely expensive for what it offers. Although, it wouldn’t hurt to add some extra shade.
I would really like to see this park stop worrying about adding more and start focusing on park standards again. Get back to basics, please Flint Creek! In the meantime, I believe we are going to begin looking for another place to spend our summers.

We have been going to Flint Creek since the boys were little. They are in their 30's now with young ones of their own. So I have a fondness for the place. I was somewhat disappointed to see the condition that the cabins are in. They are in need of some TLC. The matresses were horrible. You couldn't move without this loud noise accompanying each move. Not much sleep to be had. The carpets were actually sticky. Mattresses and carpets replaced would be a great start. There should be a list made everytime someone checks out of a cabin and repairs made on the property. It's just wear and tear and time. My husband, myself and another couple still enjoyed our weekend. We ruled out quite a few of our friends that wouldn't even consider coming back with us because of the conditions. We have very fond memories of this park and would love to return.

I've been camping at Flint Creek since 1982. It was a wonderful place up until a few years ago. It's no longer a relaxing experience. Grown people aimlessly walk though your site. There are golf carts blasting music through out the park competing with each other blasting different music. They are driving the golf carts on the main road while RVs are trying to negotiate the many hills in the park. The speed limit is 20 but the golf carts go much slower while you try to speed up a little to go up a hill, they run right in front of you refusing to move over.
It saddens me to see this happen. My older family members wont come on the weekend anymore because of the rude people but unfortunately my husband and I have to work. We spend our hard earned money to have a weekend getaway and have it suffer through the weekend with rude, un-caring, selfish people and the park ranger is nowhere to be found and no body answers the phone at the gate.
Fond memories of my youth are replaced with disgust and dismay. We're going to try other campgrounds outside of the Pat Harrison Waterway System.

Beyond upset. As of recently they have reduced the jetski riding are by more then 10times what it was. Your lucky if it's 5acres in a tiny corner. You are expected to launch of a tiny gravel half assed launch. Not only that but with jetski rentals as well?? There couldn't safely be anymore then 5 to 8 jetskis in the area they have assigned. Of course this information wasn't disclosed anywhere publicly so my family unknowingly packed up with our personal jetskis and made the hr treck to the park. Only to learn its an absolute joke now to even try and ride.

Dirty cabin( sand, dirt and spider webs all in the house , porch had missing or loose wood where small children could easily fall. The beach was disgusting with trash all over the sand , grass and parking area. Whoever cuts the grass needs to learn how to do it . Stove in cabin only worked when it wanted to , had electrical short , ceiling fan and lights were constantly flicking. People with big dogs pooping in the water where people are swimming, just gross. Looks like they need to hire better staff for cleaning cabins and the grounds including outside around the cabins, maintenance and landscaping.

We stayed in Cabin 5. It was infested with roaches. You couldn't put anything down without finding roaches on it or in it. They were even on the beds. We told them about it and were told that they already knew about because other people had complained. This is disgusting and also a health hazard but they continue to rent these cabins out. We used to enjoy going there but we don't plan to go back.

Never again. Disgusting. Not for families. Trash in the water, trash on the beach, and trash under the camp house we were staying in. The camp house itself was old as expected but dirty, filthy, dirty. You can't come here with some lysol spray and clorox wipes and clean enough to feel good about it. The front door did not close, much less lock. The brand new AC unit in upper wall kept up a steady trickle, right next to electrical panel box, down wall into kitchette area. Bedbugs came out, literally from the woodwork, of the beds at night. We packed our stuff and left at 11pm. Hope we are not bringing any bedbugs home with us. Absolutely terrible. Literally camping in tents and using woods for a restroom would be a step up. Hoping we get a refund, no one to answer phone calls on the weekend. If this is state run, Mississippi, you should be ashamed.
Also our little stone outdoor firepit was nonexistent, but the ones at the cabins next door were present.

Never staying at Flint Creek ever again. Paid a lot of money for2 nights in an A Frame cabin. The cabin smelled horribly of mold & mildew. No hot water, the beds were the cheapest mattress we’ve ever slept on. Was told it had a queen bed…no, it was smaller than a full. Outside by the lake we’re beer cans and trash everywhere, Barely any cooking pan…worst stay in my life. We called the front office and they did not seem to care. Next time I’ll go elsewhere and read reviews..a complete waste of our time & money,

We booked into the primitive campsite & it was the worse primitive campsite we have EVER stayed in. The place was filthy, the porta potties were filled to the top. There were only 2 of them for the big space. The picnic tables , not only the lack of them but the ones that were there were broken down. We gathered 3 bags of garbage before we could even set up.
I would not recommend this spot for even walking your dog never mind camping in!

Are there specific limitations to the size boat and motor allowed in the lake?
Written August 5, 2018
Why in the splash of fun pics are some of the pools murky looking and others are clear?
Written April 2, 2018
Because the water used at the waterpark comes from the lake.
Written May 31, 2018
we rom Louisiana and are planning a trip for thanksgiving week , do we need a licence to fish there , and also how much are the boats to rent (do they have motors on them ) thanks so much
Written October 14, 2016
On the website the boats available to rent show they have no motors on them, do they have motors on them and if so how much do they cost to rent for the day?
Written September 12, 2016
Hi,
If I'm not mistaken, boat rental is $20 or $30 and comes with the motor but I would call them just to make sure and see if they have any available. I don't know if you have to reserve them or not. I think they have canoes and kyacks too.
