This year Feb 15-16 2020. The Memphis Kennel Club held their AKC confirmation dog show. The venue was ideal. Plenty of room and sectioned off for the grooming area and show rings. There was concessions upstairs along with other vendors selling breed specific jewelry, Bowsie Wowsie, leather collars & leads, pooper scooper services and a OFA vet Dr. doing eye exams.

Second time I have been here for a horseshow. Great indoor arena. Especially since the weather was nasty and cold last weekend. Even has suites for events.

Spent the weekend watching barrel races in a wonderful arena. Spectators have great seats with an elevated view of the chutes, the gates, and the competition area. The second floor has ample space for vendors to set-up displays and for customers to browse products and make purchases. I bought a Western bag that I adore. The concession area was very clean and the food and drink was good - actually - the coffee was delicious! The only issue we encountered was young kids on hover boards, skateboards, and bikes - riding recklessly without parental supervision. Unfortunately, we saw an 8 or 9 year old boy on a skateboard, wipeout. The young teenagers with him just laughed as this little fellow got up and walked off crying. This arena needs security which can politely enforce the rules - whether the rules are "No dogs" or "No skateboards."

The traveling attraction on site was great ( Dinosaur Quest) but the arena was not big enough to handle all the different exhibits that went along with it . Not the arena's fault of course . The building was designed for more an outdoor feeling. Nice place, decent parking.

We pulled into the parking lot to stop for lunch and noticed a large area for RV's.
Looks like a decent place.

We were in town for the home show and while in town we were asked if we had seen the horses at the expo center. We said we had not so after getting down with the home show we went by to see. We found one of the guys who works for the expo center and asked him information about the horse show. Once we got to the door's one of the guys in a work.truck for the expo center got our and opened the door for us to get my husbands wheelchair in. Pointed us in the direction of the elevator and le lt us know where to go once we got to right floor. Saw the horse show and it was great. They had horses with tails longer than my hair, and that is long.

Great arena, clean, great food, large, great stadium seats. Perfect place for a rodeo and roping. If you get a chance go here.

The Paul Battle Jr Arena and Exposition Centre sign advertised a
JX 2 Team Roping event on the outdoor sign. We went into the arena to see what this involved and were pleasantly surprised to see a team cattle roping event. On their website there are a number of events almost every weekend. Wonderful facility with air conditioning, spots for RV and trailer parking. There wasn't a fee for this event. There is a food booth located on the upper level. Very well organized event. The winners of this event go to Las Vegas in December. We enjoyed seeing the horses and riders. Would visit again.
