Had such a good day down at one of the best harbour beaches in Sydney and if not the world. Loved it. Great for the family.

Surrounded by Sydney Harbour national park which has giant tree lined pathways. Historic cottage, cute historic cottage. Concrete stairs and a netted area for swimmers. I perch on the rocks and share with the crowd and seagulls a birds eye view of the beach and harbour. The water was freezing (October). Everyone is here, beauties, fatties, kiddies, oldies the whole... More

Our group tour stopped off here for a delightful lunch at cafe in Nielsen Park.very quiet in early Spring but gets busy in weekends, popular with locals apparently. On Sydney's harbour reach , but a good CBD bus service I understand. Lovely safe netted beach for swimming. Beautiful park. Stately homes in area. Nielsen Park is very popular for weddings... More

We went for lunch to Nielsen Park and we had a walk along the Park. The views are fantastic but not the road. I hurt my foot and I am still injured. It needs some work. It is a bit neglected. Spectacular views.

With spring upon us visitors to Sydney who wish to enjoy a typical Aussie style seaside experience could not ask for a better venue than Nielsen Park on Sydney Harbour. If yellow sands and sparkling blue water are what you seek, without battling surf and beach going crowds, then look no more. This is one of Sydney's best kept secrets,... More

Plenty of room to lounge around with friends or picnic for family. Safe for young ones and open areas for game of football for teenagers.

Definitely the best place in Sydney. Tourists don't know this place so usually you can meet only local people in there. The water is very clear. There's a huge park around the beach where you can hide in hotter days. You can also have a walk along the coast with spectacular views on Sydney City. There are also public toilets,... More

Went here for breakfast during the week. Delicious fresh food. Incredible view of the harbour. Sat outside to take it all in & soak up the atmosphere. Attentive staff without being intrusive. A great place to visit on a regular basis.

We love Neilson Park whether it is summer or winter. You can park just outside and if really busy in summer the streets have beautiful homes to walk past. There is no entry fee to the beach or park. Many people picnic here both on the beach and in the park as the park is huge plus it is part... More
