Relaxing stroll

Great for a relaxing stroll, plenty of room to enjoy the sunshine. Nice cafe looking out onto the water.

Went here for breakfast during the week. Delicious fresh food. Incredible view of the harbour. Sat outside to take it all in & soak up the atmosphere. Attentive staff without being intrusive. A great place to visit on a regular basis.

We love Neilson Park whether it is summer or winter. You can park just outside and if really busy in summer the streets have beautiful homes to walk past. There is no entry fee to the beach or park. Many people picnic here both on the beach and in the park as the park is huge plus it is part... More

Beautiful safe harbour beach, netted area for complete safety, stunning views, and walking tracks, food and drinks available, weekdays best if possible, if you don't like crowds, parking close by, or bus 325 from Edgecliffe, ferry from Circular Quay, half hour walk from wharf.

A gorgeous harbor side 'enclosed' pool and surrounding park. Great for those not confident in the ocean as no waves. Small cafe offering up sandwiches, drinks etc.

I was invited to a birthday party in Nielson Park and had forgotten how spectacular it really is. So many people lined the beach, the park and sat in the cafe enjoying a mild Autumn day. With the sun shining some swam, other adventured through the park while many more relaxed and soaked up the atmosphere. We really are so... More

Nielsen Park is an old school harbour parkland and beach reserve, set in the middle of some of Sydney's most expensive houses. Get there by car, but with limited parking in summer, or by taxi from the city ($30?), or 325 bus from the city. In summer you can go there in the day or evening to night, to escape... More

Sensational views of Sydney harbour while you swim in this clean netted beach safe from sharks. Great for families with young children. Plenty of trees in the parkland for shade and to picnic under. Watch the ferries go past and the seaplanes fly overhead. Suitable for all ages. From babies to the elderly. The kiosk sells casual food. Wraps and... More

A beautiful harbourside beach surrounded by lots of shade, cafes and a beautiful swim in a shark net enclosed beach. Great way to finish up a late summer's afternoon watching the world go by on Sydney Harbour.

Nielsen Park is tucked away in a residential street, the parking is a bit hard to find but if you go there during the week you usualy find one. There is a large park and cafe with beautiful views and a netted beach that is safe for the children to swim. The spectacular view is like a postcard with seaplanes, ferries and... More
