This house is so beautiful I have said it before but the Sydney living museums are absolutely fantastic they have got everything right. The new audio guides are brilliantl and take you through the history of the house and the people who lived there. Maybe this is a hidden gem as we pretty much had the house to ourselves! It... More

Well worth a visit to this beautifully restored historical property. It was a step back in time and an absolutely wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

What an enjoyable few hours at the beautiful place. 3 of us girls decided to have high Tea . Was not disappointed. The food was fresh and very yummy. And we were very satisfied after it. The teas were also lovely. Pretty gardens to stroll around, especially on a nice sunny day.

This country estate has been lovingly restored. The grounds are beautiful and the house tour tells interesting history. The site can be reeached by public transport or, with difficulty by ferry.

Remarkable that it survived really. Delightful grounds to picnic in. Nice staff. The house itself is nicely preserved and a real step back in time. Make you sure you don't miss the Wentworth Mausoleum a few streets over.

The story of this house is the story of early Australia.I learnt more about early Australia visually and from the commentary of our guide Bendoguz than any book could do.It was an example of how any new society creates a strata and how the emigrees were desperate to remove the stain of 'convict' - there was a them and us,still... I took the guided tour of Vaucluse House (home of William Wentworth) and it was very informative. The house is well maintained and is currently undergoing further restoration. The drawing room is very grand and ornate. This historic house is well worth the trip to Vaucluse and some of the views, on the drive into the house, towards the Opera... More

The best time to visit is for Christmas Carols . Great spot for a picnic, never tried the cafe. Plenty to see in the grounds.

The estate is a well stationed display of a 19th century home. The home has guides that are very good. There is a tour guide hourly, but check the schedule. The gardens are beautiful. The neighbourhood is a very posh area to walk through. Bus 325 from Walsh Bay. When you arrive on the ferry walk through the park up... More

The old house is open for public. Not only the rooms in the house, but you can walk around the stable, the flower gardens, the vegetables beds, the chicken coop, and the small woodland surrounding the house. Very family friendly. My favorite part of the house is the cast iron chairs in the patio. The placement gives beautiful natural vignettes... More
