This Nicklaus designed course has something for everyone. It is a challenge for all, with enough tee locations so everyone can compete. The course will make you think - many risk reward shots, no two holes are the same, a true shotmakers course. The layout is such that you only see the hole you are playing, and bordering a national... More

Absolutely beautiful course and the staff is outstanding. Very secluded, tough course but an worth the golf beating place. I would recommend this course to anyone.

My brother-in-law and I played this course and it was top of the line. We got there early and even saw a few deer roaming at the back of the hitting range. Definitely worth the price to play.

The Grand Bear is very nice and I recommend it. The Clubhouse is awesome. The men's locker room was great as well. The restaurant is a pleasing environment with pretty much bar food so ok. The menu at this course was not as nice as the Preserve. The staff is very nice. There was not a starter nor a Marshal... More

Played Grand Bear on a recent trip to southern Mississippi. This is the fifth time I have played the course and it is still great. The course is a six mile drive from the main highway through part of the DeSoto national forest, no other roads, no housing development, just quiet surroundings. The pro shop folks were very nice and... More

The course is great but be prepared to be packed in on the course. The starters start groups less than 5 minutes apart. The group behind us was ready to tee off as we drove off from the tee box. I would recommend going during the off season or on a weekday because it was so busy, the experience suffered.

We played October 4th. I have always been a fan of Jack Nicklaus design golf courses and Grand Bear is a very nice course. It was in very good condition. We were 20 minutes late to the course due to our unfamiliarity of the area. The staff was very kind and understanding and fortunately the course was not very busy.... More

This course is a great course to play. The fairways are wide and the greens are near perfect. The traps have good sand in them. The best thing about this place is the staff. They treated us as if we owned the place, and everyone was EXTREMELY helpful.

This is such a delight to behold. We took the long winding drive from Hwy 49 through the woods to Grand Bear. Not sure of what we would find, it was a real pleasure to come upon. This is a beautiful gold course, so well maintained and the clubhouse is a log cabin to say the least. Absolutely beautiful and... More
