This museum was a delightful surprise. Both the permanent collection and the traveling exhibit were outstanding. Definitely worth a visit. Really nice docent and staff too.

Superlatives fail to convey the amazing breadth and depth of this museum. European and American Masters hang at every turn, a beautify curated Native American basket collection, gleaming 18th century silver collection and (though I don't fully appreciate it) a beautiful collection of 200 plus year old Japanese wood blocks and prints. Check out the website so that you may... More

This free museum has a fine collection of paintings as well as American Indian basketry. Much of the gallery space was closed during our visit but the staff was pumped about the reorganization and upcoming shows in the fall of 2016. I will definitely be returning this winter.

It's small but excellent and well run. The collections are beautiful. The basket collection is particularly interesting which I didn't expect. Who would have thought baskets could be so cool? We were lucky enough to catch the Clyde Butcher exhibit. Even the young adults in our group enjoyed it.

We visited on a Saturday morning and spent a little over a hour at the museum. There are a number of small exhibits that range from Georgian silver to Native American baskets to Japanese prints. The staff member was exceedingly friendly and very knowledgeable. There was a temporary exhibit of photographs mostly of national parks that I particularly enjoyed. The... More

This is one of the nicest art museums that I have ever been to, and who knew it would be in Laurel, Mississippi. The artwork is fantastic, the building is amazing, and the staff is great.

Anyone traveling through Laurel or anywhere close should not miss this historic part of our city. The history of the museum itself is worth the trip. The amazing art, silver collection, and native Americans basket collection are unsurpassed by any museum in the nation. Definitely place on your to see list while in Laurel.

I have been hundreds of time growing up in the area. Went recently and it is still a nice museum. Always liked the basket area with the world's 2nd smallest basket.
