Beautiful, but stay hydrated!!

We went this weekend to view the grounds. The grounds were beautiful. I would love to come back again in the Spring so we could really appreciate it (It was HOT!!! lol).

There are areas of the grounds that are quite beautiful, especially around the pond. On the other hand, there are other areas that are seemingly devoid of flowers/interesting plant life. When I visited, for some reason the entrance door was locked even though the gardens were open. We had to knock to get someone to let us in. Also, be... More

There are beautiful flowers, peaceful surroundings and just about every "green" thing that will grow in the South. Grounds were very well kept. Good sidewalks. The trails were okay but could have used more rock or so I thought. The only negative thing I have to say is I wish there were golf carts available for those that cannot walk... More

Took my 3 yr old princess today and we loved it. We have been to the Butterfly exhibit and Bayou Bend Gardens in Houston. Going to local gardens has become a small tradition for us. The Mynelle Gardens are exquisite. A must go for everyone! We especially enjoyed feeding the turtles/fish. A bonus for us, and getting gorgeous Springtime photos... More

Having lived in Jackson for over 20 years, I finally decided to visit Mynelle Gardens. Some reviewers mention safety of the area, but I never felt unsafe during my visit. The gardens are maintained by the City of Jackson, so it is understandable that maintaining the property is not top priority when there's so many other issues needing addressing such... More

Visiting a garden in February once doesn't expect many blooms. But we enjoyed the personalized layout and could envision the previous owner spending many hours enjoying her beautiful yard. Unfortunately many of the plants have aged past beauty, groundcovers have escaped where they ought not be and the ever present weeds are more than the staff can control. The roof... More

I was stopping through Jackson on the way to New Orleans, and I love visiting gardens. This one was so beautiful, and peaceful . Loved everything about it. Great way to spend a few hours at little cost. You can even buy a small baggie of food for the turtles and fish in the gift shop.

The best time to go in my opinion is around march when alot of things are in bloom they have several species of plants and make sure to buy some food to feed the fish and the huge turtles they are awesome. Very relaxing place to visit beautiful and they have picnic tables available.

This attraction began as the flower shop of Mynelle Westbrook Green Hayward in the 1920s. Today it covers seven lovely acres of all sorts of plants and flowers -- azaleas, camellias, large flowering trees, interesting plants and, of course, perennials. It has streams, bridges and ponds containing turtles and fish, mostly bream and perch. The gardens, opened to the public... More

This is a wonderful hidden location in the Jackson metro area. The plants and flowers are seasonal and are always provide good viewing in the spring and early fall. The summer can be a little hot and humid. This is a great place for a wedding in the fall or early spring. Spend some time at the gardens and you... More
