I took my grandchild with me and we had a great time viewing the live exhibits as well as the feature exhibit. It was not crowded so we could take our time. You will want to take your camera and go out on the trails. You never know what you will see.

We chose to go to this museum rather than the neighboring children's museum because it was cheaper. What a good decision. All our kids, ages 1 to 6, had a blast. This museum has done a wonderful job of making their exhibits both informative and accessible to all ages. We went on a weekday, which was wonderful. There were very... More

The kids loved the animal displays. They usually have a special event several times a year featuring a theme or animal. Very friendly staff and nice facilities.

This is the place to be if you have small children that lives to touch and pick up things. The various activities will keep them busy for hours. The butterfly safari was my favorite part of the museum. You can stand amongst the many varieties of butterflies and they'll actually land on you. Can can even feed them with treats... More

The museum is nice, it had some interesting displays. It's not what a history buff would seek out, but it is a great experience for the kids

If you have never seen a two headed snake, this is your place. Great children's destination. Tree house, in play room, for the very young. Nice outdoor trail that takes you to the natural area with oxbow lakes. The indoor aquariums have species of fish found in Mississippi. There is also a collecction of fossils found in Mississippi. Great activity... More

My grandchildren love coming here. The exhibits are interesting & a learning experience. When you've seen everything inside - go outside & walk the trails. Watch for different special exhibits during the year. There's a gift shop for getting a memento.

This was my first visit here and I immensely enjoyed it. I was able to view the canine exhibit, which is there until Jan 3rd, I believe. It's a really neat place to spend an our or two killing time for both adults and children. Aside from exhibits, there are varied size fish tanks and a terranium with turtles and... More

The giant 500lb catfish makes me hungry. Just wish the Jackson Zoo was linked to this site near the Smith Wills area with shuttle/incorporate Mayes Lake with use of a shuttle for its visitors. Need a bit more Jackson, if you're considered a city. Lots of under-utilized potential....
