Step right up and be ready for a friendly face to show and tell you all you want and need to know about this capitol's story. It is being renovated these couple years, but the inside is most beautiful and full of historic and modern information, and is up and running. It is located on gorgeous grounds, surrounded by the... Beautiful building. Every citizen of a state should visit their capital at least once. Proud to take my children there.

This is by far one of the most beautiful capitol buildings we have visited. Absolutely stunning!! The free tour is very informative and our tour guide had lots of information. Take your camera!! We visited on December 30th and parked in the parking lot in front of the capitol (no charge). They are working on the outside of the building... More

My wife and I have toured many state capitols while traveling. Volunteers provide the individual tours for the Mississippi state capital. Our tour guide was excellent. My favorite part of the tour was learning about the history of Mississippi. For a state Capitol, the building is not impressive from the outside. It has some interesting and impressive architectural features on... More

We went during the construction and when the legislature was not in session. Hope to see the fruits of labor when construction is complete. Our local senator, Senator Sally Doty, met us and gave the tour and an informative talk.

The interior is one of the best, and trust me, I have been to quite a few state Capitols. Great guided tour which was very comprehensive and we even had the chance to meet the speaker of the House! They also gave away free lapel pins.

It's being restored, but it is a striking monument and state Capitol, really impressive domed structure with ornate and solid Roman influenced design. Like a mini DC. Worth a visit. The copy liberty bell outside works too.

The place is under renovation right now. We couldn't find a place to go inside, so we just took serval pictures and left. The building looks ok to me.

Spouse and I are visiting all the state capitols and Mississippi is #26 on our quest. This was one of the best tours we've done and I can't recommend it enough! Entrance is at the north or south sides of the building (not east or west sides), on the ground level. The tour office desk is just off the rotunda... More
