An excellent place for a short hike in a beautiful spot that is close to Oxford MS. The lake is in a serene pine forested area in Holly Springs National Forest and can be reached via an unpaved road from Hwy 30 (east of Oxford). The lake itself is beautiful, and picnic tables are available. There also is a short loop of a nature trail (about 1 mile in length). Enjoy a remote feeling but not too far from the city.

We often go here for weekend family camping trips and love it. No running water but it is beautiful and not usually crowded.

The Holly Springs National Forest is where I live and I would not want to be anywhere else. The views and scenery are beautiful, and the wildlife is proliferate. If you like to fish for sport, there are many lakes that can only be accessed through Forestry Trails on an ATV - the lakes are pristine, private and they are great fishing spots!

Beautiful lush and moist forest full of forest life. We went during July which made staying outside for very long a bit unbearable.

Restrooms closed due to storm damage, just porta-potties. Lots of fling biting bugs, Grass overgrown in many sites, like they rode through with a mower but did not come back with a weed eater.

Great place for overnight stay.... We were on our way to Atlanta and needed a place to park...and the Chewalla lake campsite was lovely!
