I should have read the website more closely.Hours listed here are incorrect. They are closed on Tuesday but open on Sunday.🥴 I wish we could have visited.

Hi Annette, We are so sorry our hours were incorrect here on Trip Advisor. We have fixed that and thank you for bringing to our attention. If you make it back to the museum, let us know and we will give you free admission. We hope you had a nice trip otherwise to the Gulf Coast and will come back to see us soon.

Fu for grandkids

They have a lot of log builds more than I ever imagined. Several model railroad systems setup across multiple buildings. The highlight was a ride on a small train that runs on the grounds. The kids loved it and I was impressed with all they offered. Great place to take grandkids for a fun stop.

Great experience for any age!
Jul 2021
Its to hard to pick my favorite thing about MCMRM. Seeing my 3 year old grandson so excited is right up there. I was amazed at how much work and detail went into each part of the museum. It is truly a great experience for any age! Everyone was so great! We were skeptical but turned out to be a great little gem to tour! Will be back!

Must See for Lego & Train Lovers
Jun 2021 • Family
This is a small place but SO worth the visit if you like model trains or Lego. Our boys loved visiting and seeing all the displays! The pedal cars were so much fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The model builder took the time to talk with us and explained how she built everything. Such a great experience! Glad we got to see this while visiting Mississippi.

Very Cool Place

Very cool little place. I’ve always been impressed with how hard people work to make these models look like real towns and countrysides.

A must do for train/Lego lovers
Sep 2020 • Family
This museum has pretty much any model train set up you could imagine, along with any Lego set you could imagine. They run completely on donations, so it's a little run down. It needs some work. That said, everyone was incredibly friendly, and if you have a train lover or Lego lover, they'll really enjoy themselves here.

The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum is a true gem for children and train enthusiasts of all ages. The museum was the brainchild of some wonderful men who love trains and desired to share their knowledge and expertise with the next generation. This museum is free of charge but it is recommended that you make a small donation of $5.00 for an adult and $2.00 for a child. Believe me this small fee will bring many smiles and much delight to your child.
My son first visited this museum a few years ago when he was a Thomas the Train fan. During that visit he had such fun watching the trains and he also enjoyed having an opportunity to ride on the larger outdoor train. As he grew older he became intrigued with trains like Union Pacific, Sante Fe, and Canadian National and visits to The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum allowed him an opportunity to see some of his favorites.
During our recent visit he really enjoyed using a switch to start the trains on his own. In addition, he had an opportunity to discuss his love of trains with one of the volunteers. That was a wonderful moment.
Upon completing the museum journey my son was ecstatic to visit the gift shop to purchase a few trains to use with his collection at home. I have learned for visiting this museum over the years that sometimes it is the simple things in life that can bring a child such joy.
Hats of to the founders and volunteers of The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum for creating a wonderful space for children to explore and learn. This museum has definitely flourished into a place that can bring a smile to any child’s face. Also, thanks for enhancing my son’s knowledge regarding trains and giving him so many priceless childhood memories. We await the opening of your new wing!

Amazing place!
Jun 2020
My nine year old grandson loves trains, so this was his place to see while we were vacationing in Gulfport. This place is amazing with so many different models to see. The children enjoyed the train ride. The staff was so nice and kind to us all. Best of all, it is free but donations expected. Very reasonable request since there is so much to enjoy here.

Delight for kids
May 2019
For a free attraction staffed by volunteers, this place is amazing. Various elaborate train displays ranging from HO to ride-on trains. Our grandchildren and their friends loved the whole museum, especially the self-propelled cars. Plenty for youngsters to see and do. A great place for a birthday party.
