Finally! After the Viking Cooking School in Memphis closed we had greatly missed this experience. Great fun for novices and experts alike with hands-on cooking using commercial-grade equipment and ingredients and experienced instructors. We did Love at First Bite and made Red Velvet Whoopie Pies, a wonderful wild mushroom truffle flatbread, asparagus with Sabayon sauce, sirloin Persillade, and butter-poached lobster... More

I have since learned of cooking classes at Everyday Gourmet in Jackson, MS, which is a fabulous kitchen/cooking store. Or the Farmer's Table Cooking School just north of Jackson in Livingston, which is run by the former Viking School chef and cooking instructor Matthew Sheeter. Go to either of these instead! My mother and I drove from Baton Rouge to... More

We are so glad we didn't miss this opportunity! With plans to travel through Greenwood, we decided to stop overnight, and signed up for the Italian Date Night class. Chef Chris was an excellent instructor, very entertaining and knowledgable, giving each person the attention and assistance they needed and sharing great helpful hints. Nikita was very helpful, steering us in... More

Visit here was a birthday gift for my husband. We attended the Japanese Steakhouse class. The class was for twelve people and was full. You are put into teams of four at separate stations and prepare your own meal. You are given instructions on preparing and the head chef is there to help with any questions. Tips are also provided... I had a great time attending the cooking classes here. They were very well organized and easy to learn recipes that tasted amazing. Every employee is so nice and friendly. They are a true example of southern hospitality. Thanks for the great time ladies.

We had so much fun at the cooking school. Chris was a great instructor. He should you every step and was helpful all the while allowing you do do it on your own. We attended the all about bacon class and the food was wonderful and the beer and wine flowed freely. They don't not push their product on you... More

We attended the Celebration dinner party which featured fillet mignon and smoked lobster. The food was tasty and we learn some tips. This is an activity that brings people together and makes for fun visiting. It is not a serious cooking class. There were 12 in our class. Some nice cheese and just okay wine were provided as we cooked.... More

My husband and I did two classes on the same day. One was for chocolate lovers and the other for bacon lovers. Considering the topics we were surprised people weren't fighting at the door! Just kidding. You have to make reservations ahead. All classes were full. The first one made all kinds of desserts and when we were finished they... More
