Just a small place in clarksdale Mississippi but jiving with a huge sound.
We came to eat but we’re entertained by the OMG Band!
We had a real experience staying in our Delta Shack. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to sample an alternative
way of living and truly understanding how simply one can enjoy life.

At 8:30 am I went there for coffee and blues. Owners were delightful and chatty. Maxine was a doll. I just had coffee since I don’t eat breakfast. Watermelon Slim entertained us until the blues act showed up. What a star! When we were chatting earlier, I told him I was from Vancouver, Canada and he sang a Stan Rogers number about the northwest passage a capella. What a treat. Love this place and we’re going to hear a band there tonight.

We had planned on visiting Clarksdale for the crossroads, & came upon the Bluesberry Cafe on Trip Advisor. It was one of the highlights of our Mississippi River Road trip! The chef is a down-home guy with some serious food skills. The decor and live music kept us occupied while our food was prepared.
This part of town was like a ghost town, but we forgot all of that when we went inside...

Watermelon Slim performing on the back deck this morning.

Great entertainment! Nice server. Very soft spoken and friendly

The food was great, but the coffee is horrible. I asked a couple sitting next to us, and they said it was horrible too.

We had a lovely diner at Yazoo and decided to have a drink at Blueberry cafe. The waitress was very unfriendly, when we told her we where only coming in for a drink. There was a guy playing life blues songs and she told us there would be an extra 8,50$ on our tap. After 30 min. We finished our drink and had to pay 8,50$ per person extra.
We came from Nashville and Memphis and had drinks in several bars with live bands playing without extra fee. This was really very disapointing. I would never recommend this place to any of my friends. Not worth the extra amount of money.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience maybe there was a misunderstanding we are not a bar .... we serve food and beer and is a blues music venue. There is a cover charge in all music venues in Clarksdale unless you are going to a food establishishment for fine dining music is provided .The cover for our venue is $8 not $8.50 as stated. the charge is how the muscians make there pay and also by tips. By the way we were inducted by the national blues hall of fame as best venue the award is framed on the wall in our establishment. Most all of our clients are from all over the world and come back to our venue on a regular basis they send us flags from there country for good luck which by the way are hanging in our venue,Paul Simon came to our place ,Dan Akyoyd sang on our stage sweet home Chicago to name a few who had a wonderful time..sooo sorry you didn't enjoy came back again let us know who you are.garanted we will make sure you have a great time

We heard about the Bluesberry Cafe from our B&B host in Helena as a place where we could hear good live music in Clarksdale on a Monday night, so we went. The vibe is super casual and intimate. The crowd seemed to be about 1/2 locals and 1/2 fellow guests from the Shack Up Inn. There was cold beer, a plate of spaghetti and meatballs if you were hungry, and some great music. The lead got down from the stage and moved around the audience. Great entertainment. Loved it. $7 cover charge.

Had breakfast here twice - great music both times. In between cooking your breakfast the proprietor/chef will come out and play the drums. Unique and oh so friendly!

Went to the bluesberry on a recommendation from a local. Actually went to another place first which luckily was closed. In the bluesberry at 11 in the morning we found watermelon slim playing. There were 3 of the people in the cafe two of whom were from the band we had seen the previous night. Watermelon slim played for the next couple of hours and then between chat to us about his life and his dad's and the music. It was brilliant. The staff were all very friendly and the food was good we had breakfast. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in clarksdale.

We had a great time recently listening to various artists including Deak Harp and the owner who also sang. Ignore negative comments; it is a great place. Yes there is a cover charge but how on earth can anyone compare this birthplace of the blues with Memphis or Nashville where watching is free but where the drinks are very expensive in very large establishments where there are loads of people.

It always makes me laugh when people spend thousands of Euros or Pounds to go on holiday and then moan about a few dollars cover charge.

Make sure you go but check out opening days/hours for this club and all other clubs in Clarksdale so that you don’t miss out on a great night.

We only stayed one night in Clarksdale but wished we had stayed 2 so that we could have visited more clubs.

The Bluesberry Cafe is usually the only place open on Mondays, so I was surprised that the audience was so small. A guitarist played a mixture of blues and folk, occasionally helped by locals on drums and harmonica.

Drink choice is limited, as it is stored in a cooler.

Everyone was friendly, and we had an impromptu performance at the end of the evening from Razorblade, an older local musician.

A good place to hear live blues.
