I visited Deak's during a recent trip and really enjoyed hearing him play a couple of songs and describe his business, which revolves around reconditioning harmonicas. The store is actually mostly a quirky museum of blues-related things.

We stopped in on hot Late July day and it's slow season. I am a casual musician and after a couple questions, Deak was jamming on the guitar and the Neil Young/Bob Dylan harmonica neck holder. Enjoyed our visit enough to toss a couple bills...More

Just happened to drive by and saw the word harmonic in the window. Talked to Desk and ended up buying custom harmonica from him. Expensive but plays so much better than a stock harmonica.

So very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Played us a sample of his music, autographed an album for me, had the Ozzy Hohner harmonica, which I had to purchase. Great stop, even if just to say hi!!! Thanks for the hospitality!!

Wonderful little place and Deak is a lovely guy - and really really talented. We were just driving by on a quiet afternoon and Deak was playing great blues harp and guitar outside his front door. Clarksdale was as quiet as a mouse, except for...More

This is one of the coolest shops in Clarksdale! The owner was in the shop when I visited. He was repairing a harmonica, and he was happy to work, chat, and play music with his customers. It's a tiny little shop in downtown Clarksdale. Often,...More
