Biloxi's original historical and sightseeing tour debuted in 1961 and 52 years later still departs from the Biloxi Lighthouse Park (Highway 90 at Porter Avenue, Biloxi, MS 39530). The "Biloxi Tour Train," also known to the locals as the "Biloxi Shrimp Train," is owned and operated by native Biloxians. 2013 marks Carla Beaugez Taconi and her husband August's 20th year sharing Biloxi's heritage, history and hospitality with visitors to this beloved city. If you're interested in an authentic and original journey while in Biloxi then this is the tour for you. "For centuries the World has come to Biloxi and I invite you to as well!"...Carla

We just happened to be at the Biloxi Visitor Center when we spotted the Biloxi Tour Train sitting in the parking lot across the street. Because we were in town without a vehicle this was a great way to see downtown Biloxi. Miss Carla is a Biloxi native and had many great stories about her hometown. Our favorite part of... More

Be sure to call if you are interested in taking the tour. The website and the visitors center had wrong information. The tour times listed didn't happen while we were there and the one we ended up doing wasn't listed. Don't sit in the first or second row if you are sensitive to fumes - at times it was uncomfortable... More

As this was my first visit to Biloxi, I was interested in learning about the history of the city. Carla is a hometown girl and was very friendly and people around the city seem to be the same. We were shown the downtown area with a historic narrative, hurricanes Katrina and Camille were covered and we could actually see some... More

Ms. Carla was great! Very informative and passionate about her town. We enjoyed it! Visited the Katrina memorial and much of downtown.

This 90 minute tour with Miss Carla is a great way to gain insight regarding the impact of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the long road to recovery. The city is working at rebuilding a downtown, but has a long way to go.

After going to the visitor centor and learing about Bilox history- this tour was the topping to the cake. The pickup point is directly across the road from the visitor center / light house. As noted in previous reviews, Carla ( our driver) has a great sense of love for the area and residents. She shares a great amount of... More

Pick up the tour in carpark by the Lighthouse. Tour guide is very good and takes pride in showing visitors around Biloxi. Tour takes you around downtown which is a good way to get your bearings and learn more about the area , although Biloxi doesn`t seem to be that big a place. Also stopped at Hurricane Katrina Memorial. I... More

We are so glad we did this tour. Carla was a delight and we learned so much about Biloxi before and after Katrina in 2005. We appreciate even more what the citizens and city went through and continues to come back from. Resilience us an understatement.

This was on the spot decision, we were coming from the Visitors Center and I saw the train across the street. We drove over and just barely made the tour. It goes down Old Biloxi driving by some of the Old Victorian Homes in the area. It also passes by the vacant spots where homes and businesses were lost to... More
