This place is great starting point for people coming into Biloxi. Lots of information here for people looking for things to do while in the area. But also a great place to learn about Biloxi's history. I didn't grow up in the area, so enjoyed...More
My husband and I visited the Biloxi Visitors Center to watch the Katrina film when we moved here in 2015. We were so impressed with the Center, it's displays, gift center and helpful staff that we take all our visitors from out of town to...More
It was a great visit on a windy winter day.
The place offered more than I expected.
A lot of sources of information packed into very pleasant forms.
The theater was nice. It almost like we visited a nice museum instead of a visitor center.
This is an above average visitor center with local history thrown in. It is in a beautiful new building along the beach. They have all the visitor info you need, a large display of local history and a movie on the second floor.
Surely you are stopping at the lighthouse, and if you time it right you can go to the top to see the beautiful light. While you are there, check out the visitor center. We are so glad it is back, better than ever. There is...More
If you like to travel to explore, make it a point to visit the Visitor Center of every town you visit.
While on I10, I'd suggest take a detour for a couple of hours and follow the parallel Oceanic Route of Highway 90.
Nice building but not all that interesting. Was disappointed that my friend from Mexico could not understand any of the topics such as the history of the area as everything is in English only..for an area the was discovered/ occupied by French, Spanish you'd think...More
Stopped by once again yesterday to pick up some literature. This is a gorgeous visitors center right across from the beach. Right now it is all decorated for Christmas and it is fabulous. This is a beautiful place anyway, but during this time of year...More
Good place to bring the family for a decent vacation. We have been there 4 times this year. The only downspot at all was the Beau Rivage...terrible terrible customer service. VERY unfriendly staff. Thought we where going to be carjacked in parking garage. Terrible...terrible...terrible! AVOID!!

I would give yourself a good hour to tour the visitors center and read all about the history. Then just across the street from the Visitor's Center is the Biloxi Lighthouse. It was built in 1848 and was one of the first cast-iron lighthouses in the South. It's the city's signature landmark and sits right in the middle of a busy highway, US 90 at Porter Ave., wierd location but lots of history to learn.

I have read Mississippi is one of the lowest cost of living states. Our state sales tax is 7%. For specific taxes for car tags and home ownership contact the county courthouse south mississippi counties west to east are Hancock, Harrison and Jackson. Hope this helps! Come on down - you will love living here!
