We invite you to enjoy all that makes our museum unique: the artists, the architecture, the history, and the landscape. The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art celebrates the innovative, independent and creative spirit of our namesake Mississippi master potter George Ohr. In a fitting tribute to Ohr, artist and architect Frank Gehry designed an award winning campus of bold intriguing self sufficient structures. The campus consists of our Mississippi Sound Welcome Center, three art galleries, the reconstructed home of Pleasant Reed, and our City of Biloxi Center for Ceramics. These buildings and the exhibits therein offer visitors separate but not isolated experiences - together creating a single unified vision connected by the expansive brick plaza and the majestic Live Oaks.

Mad Potter!!

Enjoyed the history of the "mad potter" and his artistry. Mississippi sports heroes were of interest as well. Did not know so many stars were Mississippi born.

...was welcome on a hot summer day. I'm not really into pottery, per se, have no idea who the "O'Keefe" in the name is, and came with low expectations. But came to see what the deal is. Not bad.Beautiful campus (the museum was a collection of buildings, not one big one), with fine views. I thought that the George Ohr... More

This fascinating museum features the work of the self-proclaimed "Mad Potter of Biloxi"--- George E. Ohr --- with sections of the museum designed by the great architect Frank Gehry. It has a particularly good museum shop filled with treasures.

My daughter loved art camp! She made the coolest pottery. A piece will stay there on campus as a totem pole! She used the wheel..so cool!

I was terribly disappointed, especially after going to a world class museum like Walter Anderson. There is NOTHING to see here really. The only thing of real interest is the Katrina exhibit. There is a gift shop a cafe and the rest is not worth the ten dollar admission. I even complained to the Chamber of Commerce.....

They need more items, the air was out in one of the buildings. I guess baseball is really not my thing.

To be able to see some of Frank Gehry's work up close was amazing. The Ohr collection was great to see as well. I was however surprised at the amount of baseball exhibition was available. It sort of overshadowed the Ohr work. I asked the docent to turn down the baseball video so we could hear the Ohr video. Beautiful... More

This museum is a mix of modern and historical and makes a quality expose on Biloxi's keystone artist, Ohr. It's been long enough for me to forget his first name, but his work will stand out in my mind for some time. A true talent behind with pottery, Ohr was quite the local character, and it shined through his genius... More

I wanted to see the wares of the "Mad Potter" of Mississippi. The museum looks a bit strange from the outside...but that was considered in the planning. I found it disjointed. My friends and I didn't go in the same direction when we embarked on the tour and when I asked them about the pottery they had missed the little... More

The museum's architecture was eye-catching. It was designed by Frank Gehry. Museum displays concentrate on innovative ceramic pieces made by George E. Ohr, the self proclaimed "mad potter of Biloxi." There are also rotating exhibits that spotlight Mississippi as well as international artists. I would also recommend a visit to the Pleasant Reed house which gives the history of a... More
