50 min boat ride and 20 min walk across boardwalk will take you to a slice of island paradise. Everyone who works on the boat and on the island are friendly and helpful. Clean bathrooms and concession stands a plus. Cassie working the chair rentals was very nice. I recommend this as a must see. We can't wait to return... More

I have been going to Ship Island since I was very young, and can definitely say that it is one of my favorite things to do. The price to go out on the ferry seems a little high ($71 for me, my husband, and 3yr old), but is well worth it. The only thing I miss is the "exhibits" they... More

If you are planning on visiting the Biloxi / Gulfport area in Mississippi, then take time to go on the Ship Island Excursion. Well worth it. Beautiful Island rich in U.S. history. Park Rangers take visitors on a guided tour of the Fort on the Island, which, by the way is still standing after hundreds of years. The Rangers are... More

Everyone drives to FL or AL to hit the beach. Many folks endure the horror that is the MS beaches. However there is a great alternative to the drive or the substandard beaches. Ship Island is a wonderful treat located about five miles off shore and only accessible by boat. The island is the site of a civil war fort... More

We grew up in Biloxi. Any trip we took to Ship Island was with the excursion trips or Marine Biology out of Biloxi High. My brother is now a Captain for Deep Sea Fishing trips and we took our family (a group of 25, age range from 6 to 68) to Ship Island. The island is much cleaner than I... More

This was a wonderful trip. The only downer was that we could not tour the fort because it was flooded form the heavy rains the night before. The Island was very beautiful and we found many great shells.

Well worth the trip. But the fort was the only thing worthwhile. The snack bar has bowling alley type food, reasonably priced. But if you want to sit on a beach chair, that is where they make $$$$ ......They charge a bunch of dollars just to sit in a chair. They probably make ten thousand bucks a day on renting... More

The sand is pure white and the consistency of baking flour. You can sit in the sand and let the waves break over you. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, or buy a flotation device. The entire place is relaxing. I love Ship Island!

My brother and sister-in-law brought their two grandchildren with them for a visit to our home in Biloxi. They wanted to go to the beach, but decided to do so at Ship Island when my wife and I told them how much nicer the Ship Island beach is compared to the Gulfport/Biloxi beaches. We had a wonderful time out at... More
