I suggest purchasing tickets online to avoid the lines, but they require you purchase 24 hours in advance and cost $29 per person. If you're not ordering online, get there early the line can be long, but it does move fast. It'a a great get away for the day and the beach is beautiful, bring masks and snorkel or purchase... More

I enjoyed the boat ride and met lots of people from all over the Country. We easily rented beach chairs and umbrellas. The water was nice. We wore our flip flops & water shoes as there were lots of crabs in the water near the shore. I walked to the end of the island (west or right side) and saw... More

We visited on a long weekend, with the Fourth of July on Monday, so Saturday's ship was packed, and they had a second boat. I would assume that they normally don't. We arrived about 45 minutes before the 9am sailing and the first boat was full, we had a hard time finding a seat. On weekends it probably pays to... More

If you're looking for pretty water on the Mississippi gulf Coast then this is it. There are facilities on the island and a little restaurant. The fort is really cool to tour. I would rate this a 5, but it's accessed only by boat and there's no shade to get a break from the sun. I recommend staying half day... More

The boat ride to the island was nice. There is a large air conditioned area which was especially nice on the trip back after hours at the beach. Beach was nice but it is not a Florida beach. The walk from the boat dock to the beach area was longer that I anticipated, seemed about 1/2 mile. The staff was... More

My group and I went on the Wednesday morning 9 am ferry and came back on the 5 pm ferry. We saw dolphins, we saw fish, we saw crabs! The fort was fantastic, but take bug spray! The snack shack is SUPER affordable and the boat picture at the end is $10, - Take cash for the day, but still... More

This was a fun trip on a boat to Ship Island. The dolphins playing in the wake of the boat was very entertaining. No shade on the island so be sure to take sunscreen and water. You can rent umbrellas which I suggest you do. The boat runs every few hours and it seemed like an eternity before it returned... More

The beach is beautiful! We took a ferry to the island where there was umbrella and chair rentals. The water was filled with marine life, we could see dolphins, crabs, shells. There is food available but you can also bring your own, there are restrooms with private showers to clean up before the ferry ride home. There is also a... More

My daughter & I decided to take the ferry over to Ship Island for the day. We took the 9am one, which was perfect. Got there in a little over a hour. The ride was nice, with a good gulf breeze. We did Fort Massachusetts first. Very interesting to walk around & all through. We then walked over to the... More

It was an approximate one hour boat ride . We spotted dolphins on several occasions. I am somewhat of a history buff so I was very curious during a tour of Fort Massachusetts. To think that at one time there were as many as 20,000 soldiers on this small island is unimaginable. This was a first line of defense, which... More
