Such a beautiful, peaceful experience. No loud music, no crowds, just tranquil and wonderful. You will definitely need umbrella and lots of sunscreen. There really is no shelter from the sun on the island.

What an interesting island to visit. We visited on Monday and it wasn't crowded at all. We rented the umbrella and chairs before we left the mainland and could sit anywhere we wanted on this day. There are life guards present. You do have to walk across the island but you do walk on a boardwalk but its gets hot... More

The beach is wonderful and clean. It is extremely attractive and I cannot say enough great things about this location. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the kids enjoyed it also. We saw dolphins on the boat ride which was pretty neat and it was well worth the fifty minute boat ride when we were able to reach the beach:). Warning!... More

I have been there many times. Unless you have your own boat, you will have to take a ferry from the Gulfport docks. Be sure to check the schedules.

I was waffling on whether to visit Ship Island on our trip but I am glad I did, it turned out to be our favorite experience of our trip. We saw dolphins on the trip out and while relaxing on the beach. My wife found a large stick with a bit of netting attached and used it to catch five... More

After a couple days in the waters of the Biloxi coast, Ship Island was much more clear and enjoyable. Showers allowed us to rinse off before boarding the ship back to the mainland. We took a cooler and beach mats but I wish we had taken a net to catch and release some of the LARGE blue crabs we saw.... More

I have grown up in her lived in Ocean Springs since 1976. And all this time I have probably been on the beach is a Biloxi maybe a dozen times or so yet I haven't joyed hundreds upon hundreds of beautiful days at the beach with sand and sometimes crystal clear water with 10 to 30 foot visibility. How is... More

Went with a 14 yr old and 10 yr old. My advice is to leave at 9. The boat ride is about an hour long and it will be plenty hot by the time you get there. Bring lots of water comfy walking/ water shoes and SUNSCREEN. The fort is cool and interesting. The tour lasts about 20 minutes and... More

water is clear here, very comparable to florida beaches. wear a hat & rent 2 chairs & umbrella 25$, you'll be glad to not have to carry your own (long walk to beach). decent snack stand and washroom facilities. fort only takes 5 minutes to see. highlight of the trip was watching kids catch blue crabs.

I suggest purchasing tickets online to avoid the lines, but they require you purchase 24 hours in advance and cost $29 per person. If you're not ordering online, get there early the line can be long, but it does move fast. It'a a great get away for the day and the beach is beautiful, bring masks and snorkel or purchase... More
