About
Experience the tranquillity of Bella Vista Farm and soak up the surrounding 20 hectares of parkland and panoramic views of the Sydney basin back to the Blue Mountains. Immerse yourself in Australia’s history with a morning tea in the charming gardens and courtyard of the original homestead and take a tour of the homestead interior and various farm buildings. Bella Vista Farm boasts a string of past owners and farm uses that contributed significantly to the development of Australian agriculture, including the first Merino Sheep Farm in Australia and the foundation of the Australian citrus fruit industry. The site is an intact farm including homestead and out-buildings dating from the original grant to Joseph Foveaux in 1799. The Farm is one of the best surviving examples of a hilltop farm in the metropolitan area. Discover the history of the Farm and how its history was rediscovered thus ensuring its survival. Enjoy a social picnic and make use of the public BBQ facilities in the outer grounds of the farm or simply wander the walk ways and view the avenue of Bunya Pines that form the original driveway to the homestead.

Well organized, large but still intimate amphitheatre
Feb 2020
Visited for the Red Hot Summer Tour. The venue was well laid-out and the amenities were quite well organized. There were enough toilets, which is amazing for any concert and the food stalls offered some nice choices beyond burgers and hotdogs. The drinks were priced about right, but most choices ran out long before the concert was over. The venue is very scenic and laid out around a natural amphitheater which made the concert intimate without having to be crowded or insanely loud. The approaches from the carpark were very muddy after recent rain which was a small issue, but worth mentioning. Worth noting for the scores I have given below, that we went for a rock concert, not to visit the historic home on the site.

Red Hot Summer Tour
Feb 2019 • Friends
We often travel to The Hunter Valley for our all day outdoor concerts so this was our first visit to this venue.
Lovely scenic spot in busy suburbia.
We set up our spot, camp chairs/picnic rugs, ready to rock out to some great music.
Shade available if needed.
The venue was well set up with the wait times pretty much non existent (straight to the bar/merch/snacks)
Security and venue workers were all pleasant and respectful.
We were allowed small eskys with food and (sealed) water.
Great venue and we are definitely planning to see more gigs here.
It gets pretty hot so wide brim hat and plenty of sunscreen.
Would be a nice place to relax, have a picnic and bring your kids when its not a music concert day.
Great Concert Venue!

A ghostly night with professional ghost hunters.
Sep 2018 • Family
This farm is for ghost hunters. You explore a pitch black house with the different machinery that you are supplied with. Go into the loft and use the tipping tables and lastly (if your game) sit in a room for 5 minutes by yourself, blindfolded with a pair of head phones on.
The cost includes a BBQ.

Historical colonial regional property.
Jan 2018 • Family
Historical colonial regional property. Wonderful to see history preserved so well. It is difficult to preserve history in such a young country as Australia, so much has been lost to progress. This property is an exception to the rule and well worth visiting on open days.

BBQ area no good
Mar 2018 • Family
Went to have a look at the farm, bbq and have a picnic with the kids. From the car park the farm appeared closed so we didn’t go in (google said it would be open but pretty sure it wasn’t). Decided to still use the bbq area and picnic nearby but the spot was just boring, not a great picnic spot by any means. Won’t bother with the farm again. Just disappointing.

Just love this place when concerts are on..
Feb 2018 • Couples
Went here to watch the Ret Hot Summer Tour, featuring bands like Moving Pictures, Baby Animals, The Angels, Screaming Jets and Suzi Quatro. The crowd was capped at 5,000, so well done to the organisers as this amount of people was just perfect. There were virtually no queues for food and drink.
A totally outdoor venue where events like this go ahead rain, hail or shine. 12pm - 9pm, a great day out with friends listening to some great music. BYO chair, rug, sealed bottle water and snacks. Depending on the event, alcohol is served, but generally mid strength beer and mid strength spirits, and normal wine but smaller servings (187ml).
Parking onsite but as we lived locally, we walked to the event. Sunscreen and a hat is a must in the warmer months.
Give this event location a go..

Great opportunity to step back in history of early settlement days; interesting monthly markets; great views of local area; open days allow for exploration of the property with knowledgeable volunteer guide; devonshire teas; expansive picnic grounds adjacent to farm.
