Fantastic beach, so very picturesque, lots of enjoyable beach bars. Very shallow waters into the sea. Great waves for surfing, lots of surfing places along the beach, I would highly recommend the 'school' near the Rainbow Beach as they can offer not only surfing but numerous well priced tours. The beach is very clean & whilst there are places for shelter its a very open beach. A number of opportunities for boat trips out to the lighthouse & 'secret island', which is also actually peninsula.

If you're looking for genuine Batik art, this is the place. Handmade one of a kind Batik art on cotton fabrics.

Each piece has its own story. Noble (the artist) is happy to tell his stories behind his art and show you how they are made.
These are not cheap mass-produced prints you find everywhere along the beach and in shops. They are hand drawn and hand dyed, each taking a week or more to make.

If you are looking for quality and something unique, visit Noble. Be prepared to pay more for his work, but it's worth it.
Look for the signs on the beach and walk about 200 meters to see his collection. The path is next to Minkem Gems.

I have not attached pictures of his work as Noble worries about people stealing his designs and copyright problems.

Will recommend the beach to families with children mostly. The greatest thing was during the weekdays - totally empty. But on weekends full of people

Swimming is a passion of mine as the warm water soothes an aching back and stiff joints with low resistance fortification. 1234

Lovely clean sandy beach, great for long walks and to watch the sunset. Barberyn Reef is just near by for a relaxing swim. You will find many great fresh seafood restaurants along the way and they are cheap.

The beach was relaxed, not too crowded, spacious and the views and sunset were nice. It was pretty wavey but fun to swim in, also saw many beginner surfers there. During our 7 day stay the water was clean except from one day. There were a few surf schools, couple of restaurants and bars and overall relaxed feeling. For fun and nightlife it doesn't have too many options.

We did the river tour from the end of Moragalla Beach with Susith, he was very knowledgable and did a hassle free tour. He showed us crocodile’s, water monitors, white frog, bats, kingfisher and much more. He took us down the small river and the large river, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend his tour, if you require a tour WhatsApp him on 0774421411 or ask for him at the Bentota River end of the beach.
