Little diamond in the rough. Who would have thought by its name this museum would have such a great collection.

It's such a surprise and well worth the trip to see this collection with world renowned artists. Great space as well.

We discovered the museum as we looked for an attraction near an overnight stop on a short road trip. The name intrigued us as Winona, while right of the Mississippi, is a long way from what one associates with “Marine Art.” Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience with permanent galleries displaying a number of works that one would expect to... The quality of the exhibits, the display of the art, the descriptions and the history of each piece at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum would seem to belong to a metropolitan museum. Indeed, I have been to art centers in much larger population centers that could not compare to this museum. If you check out this museum online, you will... More

Having been here many times, I am still amazed every visit. A great museum, 'punching well above its weight'. The quality of the art on display is exceptional. The permanent exhibition is small but world class. Each of the special exhibits I have seen have been exceptional. Worth the entry fee many times over.

Winona is such a beautiful small town and this museum is a big deal. It has a great collection of famous artists, Van Gogh, Renoir, Wyeth, Homer, Monet, etc. It even has a small Sargent. It is well worth the visit for any art lover who might be in the area, but for my father and I it was worth... More

My wife had read some clips on this museum and selected Winona as a destination for her birthday specifically for a visit. We were simply overwhelmed at all aspects of the museum, its location and layout, gallery size and range of incredible art. Never did I expect to see Impressionist artists displayed in a modest Midwest setting along with selections... More

Who knew Winona Mn had original Picasso, vanGogh and Monet. Not to mention other beautiful local artists. It was an incredible experience. We had a great tour guide who walked us through the paintings. Look forward to a return visit so much we did not get to see.

We were on a vacation wondering up the Mississippi River and stopped at the MN Marine Art Museum because it was a starred attraction in the AAA MN book. Upon entering, we quickly realized the gem (priceless) this museum is. Most of the art pieces are paintings with some water in the scene. It has major works by Picasso, Van... More
