Route along river includes high bluffs and fine views of the river. Lake Pepin is on the route. Hard to beat this drive. Summer is better than winter.;

(Bob Dylan) 61 is a great drive. Take your time, stop often, and enjoy the scene. The drive from Lake City south is beautiful in any season.

We were staying in Winona and took a drive on Highway 61. It is impressive for the views. We were there for the spectacular fall colors and the whole route that we drove was beautiful, as it does go along the river and the bluffs.

Highway 61 from Redwing, MN to Prairie Du Chien, WI. Is amazing. Drive both of the MN and WI sides if you get a chance - for the amazing river views and small towns, including La Crescent, MN; Alma, WI; and Prairie Du Chien, WI....More
