This geological feature can not be missed' It rises, on top a Mississippi River bluff above Winona, Minnesota. Use Caution, if you intend to go up and hike around, it can be very slippery!

We did an early morning hike to Sugar Loaf. It was a perfect way to enjoy the scenery of Winona. We took the path that’s starts behind the realtor, I think that might be the older, more challenging path. I believe there’s a newer, easier...More

This was a fantastic hike that was easy to get to. Park in front of Edina reality and walk straight up, and you will find it. Strong running shoes or hiking boots are a good idea along with making sure you follow the correct path...More

Climbed with family ages 3-50. Easy to moderate hike without many steep hills. Nice views from the top. I suggest boots but running shoes would be fine. Has some muddy areas after a rain.

Always like to see this landmark when I return to Winona after spending half a year in the south for the winter. Also gives me a warm feeling as I look at it when I am walking on the lake bike path.

It's always fun to hike to the Sugarloaf in Winona, Minnesota. This year, the Parks Dept. opened a new trail on the north side of the bluff. It's a more gradual climb and makes for a very nice hour long hike. The old trail on...More

My family finally decided to do Sugarloaf. If you are unsure how to find it, go to the little antique store right off HWY 43 and Sugarloaf Road. The store is called Treasures Under Sugarloaf. Stop in and have a look around there. It's a...More

I think Sugar Loaf is one of the more photographed places in Winona. I was told it's not a easy place to climb up to, especially if you're not fit! I was also told, there are snakes around that area!

Finally got around to actually climbing up to Sugarloaf. You drive around behind it on Lake BLvd and then Sugarloaf road, and park next to a brick utility building. There's a no trespassing sign, but that's for the house next door. You climb a concrete...More

When driving north on Hwy 61, you will know you have arrived in Winona when you see the city’s most iconic landmark, Sugar Loaf (illuminated at night), a majestic, limestone pinnacle that tops a 400-500 ft-tall bluff. The pinnacle overlooks the city and rises more...More

I have not reviewed Sugar Loaf before, but had some friends hike the trail. I am told it is not that easy nor that tough. But I have been told it is a bit of a climb also. Not sure that helps any.
