Banks aren't normally on my list of places to see when I'm traveling, but the Merchant's Bank in downtown Winona is an exception. It's a wonderful example of Prairie School architecture. I grew up in Winona, and this is where my mother banked, so I...More

Brings to mind The Fountainhead. I had no idea this was in the center of Winona. Must see it in person to get the full effect of the light on the colors of the building.

Enjoyed learning a bit more about the history of the Merchants bank from a manager who spontaneously showed up to give us a tour. Who would have thought a bank could be this interesting?

For tourists, it might be worth walking in to the lobby of this bank for 10-15 minutes to view the Tiffany-style stained glass windows.

This is true gem. Outside, textbook. Inside, the windows are truly spectacular. The remodeling and additions are spot on.

See Arlene for a mortgage, she will make it happen. New town, new job, no problem. Arlene and the rest of the staff has been wonderful.

The stained glass and craftsman style of the building is a sight to behold. It is a wonderful place to bank as well. The staff is friendly and very personable. One always feels at home.

I've been with Merchants for over five years. Their staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I've never felt taken advantage of. I'll never switch banks.

Merchants bank has an amazing old time feel to it but it has all the modern technology and processes of a much larger banking system. This bank still treats people as neighbors and is willing to work with you on a personal level.
