Amazing each time I am visiting the place
If you are a foreigner or nature lovern and you want to see an amazing place that is combining nature with culture in Romania, in Transilvania, then beside nearby well-known attractions, Ramet Monastery is a stunning place to visit. You can feel the vibe of one of the biggest orthodox monasteries from Romania, assist in a religious ceremony, visit the museum, carpet workshop, and other activities surrounded by monastery gorges. Walking, from the monastery, up on the valley, you can admire the landscape and in the end to pass Ramet gorges by water or climb on Brana Caprei (for advanced). At the end of the rout, another landscape will take your breath, arriving in Cheia village, where you can see a small establishment of traditional houses specific to Apuseni mountains.

    Monastero meraviglioso.

    Beautiful quiet place
From a small base, the current monastery was extended recently. A quiet place in an impressive mountain scenario.

Peaceful garden below the rocks. One of the oldest orthodox churches in Romania (14th century) is hidden here. If you like hiking, combine with nearby Ramet gorge as a full day programme.

Set among the beautiful mountain scenery, this is a quiet peaceful place. There are two churches, the old and the new. Architecture is nice, the old mural paintings even better.

A must see place, just like heaven!
So peaceful, so clam, so so. Very easy to get there from Alba Iulia, around 40 minutes by car. The two churches are impressive, there is also a museum with old traditional clothes, house objects.
The paintings of the walls of the two churches are extraordinary, representative for the after life. There is a wonderful garden with flowers and trees, a place where you can listen to your inner thoughts.

I visited this monastery this year and I was quite impressed by the surroundings and way of living of nuns. You can drive to the monastery via a narrow street and you see the rocky mountain in from of you. The monastery lies at the bottom of Ramet Keys. Inside the monastery there are places to rest and museums. The nuns also make carpets and you can visit their Workshop.
From the monastery you can drive by car until the Ramet Keys, through the Ramet city and after that you can climb the mountain.
The landscape is very beautiful.
If you want to climb you have to be prepared because the climbing is a little difficult and you also have to cross a water.
In order to get to the monastery, from Alba Iulia you have to drive to Teius and in this city it is a sign to take left for the monastery.

It's the oldest orthodox monastery in Romania (build on 13th century) and has as specific the bell resonance, especially due to location in the Râmeț Gorges. Full of grass and flowers, the monastery courtyard is a nice place for relaxation and meditation
