If you have the time to stop by and enjoy the waves and the serenity of the lakeside I would recommend it. This is as close to the ocean as many Minnesotans get!

This is our favorite place to go when there is a storm . the Waves are majestic, plus the little shed on the south side is an icon of the northshore.

We stopped here for a few minutes during our recent trip up north. It’s relatively easy to find as long as you know which gravel road to turn off on. You then drive a short ways, and park alongside the road. The road loops, so...More

We were here when the big lake was calm as the sun was setting and it was gorgeous. We were here a couple days later as the waves were crashing. We saw a lot of deer in the area. You just park along the dirt...More

Stoney Point is my go-to place to escape from reality. Serene and sometime a surfer or two when the lake works itself up into a frenzy!!

Nice place to stop between Duluth and Two Harbors. This beach has large rocks with no sand or pebbles.

Great day on the north shore of Superior. Winds were such that the waves were 10'-12'. Got to see a bunch of guys surfing. First time I've seen that in person. Fall colors were great and this was the icing on the cake.

WE were looking for places to look for agates. This is not the place. Hard to get to the beach, and not too many smaller stones here, only bigger ones( and not agates ). Great views of the lake, sunrises especially.

Great place to sit and watch the waves hit the rocks. Great view of a truly beautiful lake even on a dreary day.

Don't overlook this little-known "beach" 15 miles from Duluth. It's not the best place for hunting agates, but is an ideal way to get up close and personal with the big lake, likely without many/any other people around. Amazing to see the lake this way;...More

16 year old's birthday in LA (4 Replies)
My wife and I are bringing our son to Universal Studio for his 16th birthday. Watching the wait times this week, I opted for front of line passes for this Friday. Saturday I'm renting a car for the day and would like to present my son with a list of places/activities to choose from. Some ideas: Griffith observatory, hike to the Hollywood sign/wishing tree, Hollywood walk of fame, La Brea tar pits, Farmers Market, Venice Canals, Chinatown, Beverly Hills, one of the beaches; Venice, Laguna,...More
