beautiful day, beautiful place!

Gooseberry Falls is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two exploring and hiking around the falls. We were there with our teenage son and we all enjoyed falls.

This stop is a no brainer, it's why you came to the North Shore. Easy trail to hike around and see the falls from both sides

Lovely state park with a pretty views of the falls and Lake Superior! We walked about 2 miles on the paved trails, all of them stroller friendly, and enjoyed the views. There were miles more of trails. Great stop if you are heading up north!

We loved our time camping at Gooseberry Falls State Park campground. I now understand why this Campground is completely booked. Beautiful treed sites with fire pits and picnic tables. We were situated next to a very clean shower house. Note, there is no electric or water hookups, so be prepared for that. Also make sure your site is big enough... More

We stayed nearest to the Lake Superior, sites 58 and 59. Woodsy but with paths to the water and overlook just steps away! They have great bathrooms kept really clean, and a nice weather shelter building with five large picnic tables and a huge fireplace. Cozy and roomy all at once. Kids loved the exploring and I liked the creature... More

A recent storm sent lots of water running down the river, coloring the lake with its brown sediment quite a ways out. Love the variety - big basalt rocks, agate beaches, waterfalls galore, forests, trails. Love this place!

Gorgeous water falls with three levels. Fairly easy to moderate Falls Loop hike (not too long) in great for most ages, with some steep steps. Great visitor center and gift shop. A must see.

This place can get really busy. We were there by 7am and didn't see anybody until about 9am. Drove by later around noon on a Monday and the parking lot was full. You don't need a park permit to get to the Falls parking lot. Great place to enjoy the outdoors.

We didn't spend much time in the visitor center but just started walking on the trail. It was well marked and had many beautiful spots to stop along the way. Lots of stairs on the loop path but not too strenuous if you don't want it to be. Good stuff!

This is a great spot to get out and go for a walk. There are some steps and a little climbing involved but nothing too difficult for someone in normal health. The scenery is gorgeous...lovely waterfalls. There is a great little gift shop on site as well.
