Bay of fires is just stunning in scenery the orange on the rocks with the ocean as a back drop is super impressive.

Also a look out with nice views overlooking the ocean, with walking tracks and beautiful beach to walk along and swim in. The number 1 thing for me in St Helens to do.

Did quite a bit of hiking in the area. A 15km walk from Binalong via Dora point, then inland and back via Humbug recreational area. Next day from Cosy Corner back to Binalong. So beautiful. Transport from St Helens to Binalong was a bit of an issue. No cars for hire, taxi didn't work, no busses. I found some friendly people who drove me out for a fee and I hitchhiked back, which, at the age of 67, I hadn't done in a long time. 🤣😂. Took a million photos of the breath taking beauty of this part of the world.

Once in a while you reach a place where you become emotional when presented with a truly amazing natural wonder. Such is the case for me when my wife guided me to Binalong Bay and the Lonely Tree.
After having lunch at the picnic area above, we strolled down to one of the small bays beside the lonely tree. I found myself mesmerised and lost for words - for some reason this spot just got to me - I didn't really want to leave.
As we near the end of our tassie trip, I've already told my wife that when we come back (not if), that I just want to come here and chill.

On our around Tasmania road tour in Feb 23, a must do was to visit the Bay of Fires area. As we were staying in St Helens, we drove out to Binalong Bay ending at Skeleton Bay reserve off Main Road, Binalong Bay.
At the reserve is a raised platform that allows you to view up and down the coast with ease. Also, walking within 400 metres Nth East and Sth West of this reserve, many different aspects of the Bay scenery, and the orange rocks can be found.
A unique, beautiful area, with crystal clear water and magnificent and unique rock formations.

We spent the day visiting the Bay of Fires, including Binalong Bay. The varied vistas, from colourful rocks to open sandy beaches, were beautiful. We did manage to avoid a Tiger Snake, due to a sign left by another helpful traveller, but that was as close as we got to wildlife. It's a truly beautiful area and we were lucky to have great weather to enjoy it. Definitely worth visiting if you love natural scenery.

Great beach and coastline spot to wander around. Colourful rocks obviously stand out, but also translucent water, pretty shells, sheltered tiny beaches. We made a nice day of travelling along the east coast to take in places like Binalong Bay.

The Bay of Fires is nice but so overrated, heard so many great things prior and couldn't wait to get there and explore only to feel let down. I was fortunate to travel to Schouten island and found that the beaches and lichen rocks were much better quality. The Bay of Fires is a nice place if your up that way and still worth visiting.

Amazing granite rocks with red/orange lichen. Easy to find just take the Binalong Bay Road from St Helens, about a 20 min drive. They are just on the side of the road within the bay, parking available. Beautiful clear water lovely to wander clambering over the rocks and looking at sea life or just stand back and look at the amazing colours. A bit cool in the water while we were there but would be great to swim in the bay when warmer. Lovely white sandy beach next to it looking over towards ‘The Gardens’ another rock formation further around also about 20 mins drive. Definitely recommend to go here so pretty ❣️

WOW! We stopped in at Binalong Bay, the start of the Bay of Fires. This place was spectacular. Large boulders tinged with orange on a beautiful picturesque beach with clear aquamarine water with white sand. Absolutely spotless and private. The Bay of Fire boulders make magnificent viewing as you climb the top to explore and photograph. Visit, enjoy and love it just like we did. It was one of our favourite stops on the East Drive on the way to Launceston.

Get to the location "The Garden". I thought the "Bay of Fires" was THE spot, but really it's an entire area with several beaches that covers miles. I found the most colored rocks which were amazing for climbing all the way to the very, very (yes, VERY) end of the road at the Garden. Absolutely stunning.

Binalong Bay was the jewel we did not expect to find. Though the water was chilly, the beach was pristine and glorious!
