Funny, friendly staff and a fantastic experience
Oct 2020
A fantastic experience for anyone who wants to learn how to cook Thai food. A friend and I booked for a lesson and we were picked up at our hotel in Chiang Mai by the staff. We were then taken to the school, stopping at a local market on the way to learn more about the local ingredients. On arrival at the school, we were given a tour of the garden and then the cooking began! We cooked six dishes each in total, ranging from curries and Pad Thai to spring rolls and sweet desserts. The staff were friendly and very funny, making for a light and relaxed atmosphere. It was nice too that we each cooked individually with one Wok per person, meaning that we were able to do everything ourselves. Having cooked (and eaten!) all the dishes, we were then given a lovely colour cookery book with a broad range of dishes in it and were dropped back to our hotel. I am vegetarian but the staff were very accommodating and I was still able to cook all the dishes, just using Tofu instead of meat where necessary. Amazing experience and would definitely visit again!

Art and Arty were so fun and great energy to be around! They picked our group of 6 up at the hotel in Chiang Mai, we stopped the the market to be educated on the ingredients and flavors, then got to the property! The couple that own the space are wonderful and the atmosphere is so great! We made DELICIOUS 6 items and had the best time doing so. Laughing nonstop the whole time. The cookbook we got to keep is being utilized now that I’m back home!

Amazing class

We had a great time at Siam Garden! The staff is just lovely, very kind, and the cooking class interesting. A transport pick you up to go to the local market first, then to the cooking place. After the lesson, you get a great book with all the recipes and informations about thai food ingredients. Then the transport takes you back to the place you want. I recommand it!

Very enjoyable experience. There is the option of a morning, afternoon or evening course. We went for the evening session and ended up with another couple so essentially had 1 to 1 tuition. We were picked up from our hotel on time and taken to a market to learn about the ingredients we would be using later on. We all were able to decide our menu of 6 dishes and they catered to all requirements (we had a vegetarian, pescatarian and vegans- so did not see what the meat versions were like). It was a lovely location/building, we all had our own cooking areas and a nice area to eat the awesome dishes in. Afterwards we were dropped back to the hotel with a recipe book detailing all the things we had learned plus more!

I highly recommend this cooking school if you want to have fun, learn real thai recipes, and have amazing meals! In the morning group there were 6 of us, Art picked us up at our hotel, we went together to the local market to learn about thai ingredients. Then 30 minutes drive to the garden, where we cooked 5 dishes, we picked for ourselves all of them (vegetarian and vegan options avaliable). During the cooking the guys were really professional, the class were very well organised, it is a cool family business. After the class we got a recipe book with a lot of knowledge.

Loved Every Minute!

Fantastic morning getting picked up, going to the local Thai Market, then driven to the beautiful cooking school. Art was an amazing instructor and would highly recommend signing up for a Siam Garden cooking class. You choose the dishes you want to make and there are vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Lovely location, amazing people, great food and a fun time!

Brilliant fun Art was amazing and Arty was just as good. Lots of fun even with young able cookers and teenagers with no clue what to do.

Amazing day out, very full!

Art and Arty were great teachers even though we all were making different meals. I made a Thai Green Curry Paste, then Thai Green curry, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Coconut cream soup and Mango sticky rice. Amazingly I could eat (and love) everything as I got to decide the spice level!! Art and Arty are also really funny, if you're Wnglish expect to be called geezer all day!! And in a pretty good London accent too hahah! We also got a tour of the local food market which was interesting as they knew so much about the foods and how they differ from western foods, how to buy them back home etc. And we all got a lovely cooking book!!

We really enjoyed this class. There was only four of us and we had lots of laughs with Art and Arty. They were really good teachers of Thai cooking and we taught lots of “Aussie” words. All the food was delicious, I couldn’t eat it all!
