    Stunning Landmark Building
The Landmark Center is in the center of downtown ST Paul on the north side of Rice Park it's open Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am - 5pm & Sunday 12 noon - 5 pm. The building was a Federal building, Post office, Custom House & Court House it also had an FBI office in it. Now it houses a wood work museum & a musical museum plus the two disused courts, the Chief Justice room. ( courtroom 430 ) The wood paneling is magnificent in this chamber, with the dom roof also makes this room look stunning. A gentleman at information will give you a map & inform you how & where the lifts are. The tiles on the floor & the glass roof on forth fool are just wonderful.

Hidden gem in the center of St. Paul, MN. The Landmark Center is meticulously maintained and provides a vistor's view into the 1920's and 30's. There are signs throughout the building that help explain the history of the building and rooms that are beautifully decorated. You will see libraries, courtrooms and exhibits.

Visited on a very quiet Wednesday in May. Informative exhibits and a local art show with viewer voting. 2nd floor Gallery of Wood Art worth a trip to Landmark. Beautiful collection of wood art mixed with wall tapestries. (American Association of Woodturners). Gift shop in good taste.

This is the first federal buildings in St. Paul. It’s free to enter and have different exhibits and offices. We got to learn about the history of the building, the importance of some of the rooms and the timeline of it. Some of the court rooms are just beautiful. It’s free to enter, and your could spend hours there if your wanted to.

We agree that our court rooms are just stunning, and many enjoy the historical context that is available while touring them. Historic and beautiful structure in downtown Saint Paul. Stunning architecture both inside and out. It would not be out of place in any European city or in Quebec. Completed in 1902, it was a former government building serving as the US Post Office, a Courthouse and the Custom House for the state of Minnesota. It now houses museums and is an event space. It's located at Rice Park which is one of the most attractive areas of the Twin Cities with the fabulous Ordway Performing Arts Center, the impressive George Latimer Public Library and the historic Saint Paul Hotel nearby.

Landmark Center is in a great area of Saint Paul. Across the street is a little "park" space. The water fountains across the street are neat. The Peanut character statues (by Charles Schultz) all around are cool. You see Linus, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder and Lucy - all the favorites. I think my wife even found Snoopy and Charlie Brown.

The Landmark Center Building is gorgeous. At one time, it was a Federal Court House and Post Office Building. The city considered tearing it down. Fortunately, it was preserved. It's now a venue for the arts.

We didn't try it, but there's even a restaurant on the lower level of the Landmark Center.

There is no charge for the Landmark Center.
Parking is a little inconvenient. The space we had allowed only 30 minutes max. I had to run back and feed the machine once or twice.

The Landmark Center is a Must-See attraction in Saint Paul. If you can, spend a little time on the nearby Mississippi River. There's a nice park on the other side of the river

Thank you for your very nice remarks about Landmark Center and our city! We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to both. We often have visitors remark that Rice Park, with Landmark Center and the other historic buildings surrounding it, remind them of a "European square." Glad you got to spend some time on the river - Saint Paul, is, after all, the northern-most port on the Mississippi!

I honestly didn't know what to expect when we went to see this attraction. Everything I read about it was so ambigous, but I guess that is because it is not really anything specific anymore. It was an old Federal Courthouse that's been renovated to house a small museum, gift shop and be rented out for special occasions. The lady at the information desk was helpful and informative and enjoyed talking about the building. J. Edgar Hoover even stopped there.

But since it is free, it's a great way to kill an hour or so out of the rain or cold. The building is beautiful. If you enjoy old buildings or architecture, don't pass this one up. The court rooms are impressive with wood and white marble, yet smaller than you'd expect.

I'd recommend this simply because of the price of admission can't be beat. We enjoyed our visit.
